eBay must be going by the premise that buyers are stupid!

Is that showing that way for core listings ONLY or store as well?
I know that my buyers sometimes like LOTS of one particular item if they are making birthday cards, baby announcements, etc. and saying...more than 10 available would not be helpful at all.
I guess it's one thing if a SELLER actually wants it displayed that way, but we're not all clones.

I don't think it's active yet as I can still see higher quantities on listings.
Some of my buyers buy more than 10 of the same at once but I guess that will still be possible.
However, this whole thing is moronic as it should be up to the seller to decide how he/she wants to market their items.
Offering 1,000 at once might might not be a brilliant marketing strategy but why should eBay babysit a seller that wants to list that way.
It almost smacks as being self serving, i.e. if one wants to have 20 items listed, one should create a new listing, thereby incurring more eBay fees... DUH!

I posted the above last night on another thread before this announcement was made.
People are constantly looking for something different or unusual. Something that you don't see everywhere. Something that is hard to get...the thrill of the hunt.
How many cabbage patch dolls would have been sold and for what price if they had been readily available in every store?
But I do agree completely that sellers should have the right to state any number they want to. eBay is trying to control every detail these days. Maybe they would like to do the buying, listing and shipping for us too.

Don't forget about the scanning, correspondence and making dinner every once in a while!

Not that they are all wrong with their thinking; I just resent the fact that these decisions are made for me.
I am confident that I know what I am doing and if I want to list and show a quantity of "48" then so be it.
Because of the way I list, I get plenty of resellers inquiring for large quantities, their perception being that I have lots of stock.
What is next? Mandatory maximum pricing, free shipping, etc?

Dinner? I never had so much take out in my life! Could I deduct that from eBay fees?...]:)

You'll have to move rural where there are no fast food restaurants!
Not sure if you can deduct those meals from eBay fees. However...business dinners/lunches are deductible. Do you discuss eBay over your meals? 😉
Have a good one!

Right.......at 50%. No alcohol allowed in that amount- and you have to record those present, and the reason for the meeting. There are rules to be followed !!!!!
Then there's that 30km rule.......in some circumstances.
Right offs only go so far. Don't spend the extra money eating out- stay with your family. Spend more time with your family- eat at home!

Yes, I know. And, believe me...all meals are made in OUR kitchen with my three girls and/or my husband helping. No *business* meals here!
