Never got the item or the refund that I was promised.

I ordered from an international seller in August and never received the item.  I contacted the seller and they promised to resend it - never got it.  By this point it was past 45 days, so it was too late to open a case.  In retrospect, I should have opened a case when the item didn't arrive the first time, but I chose to believe that they were honest and would resend the item.  I tried contacting them several times and they wouldn't reply to my emails.  I finally phoned ebay and they provided me with the seller's phone number, but I'm reluctant to phone China due to long distance charges and the language barrier.  I contacted the seller again and told them ebay had given me their phone number so I would call them if they didn't reply.  They finally replied and told me they would send me a refund.  No surprise that I still haven't received a refund and they won't reply to my messages.  It wasn't a huge amount of money, but it's the principle - I don't want this seller to steal my money and, looking at feedback from other buyers, I see that they have stolen from other people as well.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to leave feedback because I missed the deadline while I was waiting for my item to arrive the second time, so I have no way of letting people know that this seller is dishonest.  This is very frustrating and I feel like there is absolutely nothing I can do to get my money back.  Any suggestions?

Nothing can be done for your purchase from five months ago.

Next time you do not receive a purchase, file a claim within the timeframe required - typically no more than 6 weeks.

On eBay, file appropriate feedback within 60 days of purchase.

Lesson learned. Make sure that with such a seller that you file an item not received claim before 45 days have passed.

We are in the same boat right now and today is day 44 for the item. This particular seller is pretending to be shipping from Markham Ontario and turns out to be drop shipping from China. Their feedback reveals this as obvious but was not obvious when the sale occurred on dec 12.

So we have to file the claim right now or it will be too late.

Thanks.  I've never had problems on ebay before, so I didn't really know that there were timelines for making a claim - my own fault for not knowing the process.  But you're right, lesson learned!  I will definitely be more careful in the future.  I'm just glad that I'm not out a huge amount of money.  Good luck with your claim!

Thanks!  I will be more careful in the future now that I know there is a timeline for item not received claims.  I was being a little too trusting and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I guess I can't do that.   I've accepted the fact that I've lost my money, but I wish there was a way I could warn others about this particular seller since I didn't leave feedback in time either.

If the seller left any feedback for you, you can add a Response indefinitely.

Scammers rarely do leave feedback, but ....

The most effective feedback or Response is calm and factual.
