Payment owing but item returned/cancelled transaction

Hi there,

A buyer returned an item to me and I have refunded them their money and cancelled the transaction, but it's still showing that she owes for the transaction in my payment section to the side (the red numbers vs green to the left hand side)

Have I forgotten to do something? I've been credited the fees by ebay, so I'm not sure if it's just something that takes time or is normal after a return/cancelled transaction. I just don't want the buyer to have any problems with it showing as not paid, when she paid, returned item and was refunded.

The transaction will still show if you did not go through the Mutual Cancellation process, which would return your selling fees.

If you want those back, ask the customer to agree to an MC when you send it. If she does, or if she ignores it, the transaction will be formally ended for both of you and your fees returned.

The red "unpaid" will disappear and change to green hyphens. The rest of the information will hang around for 60 or 90 days.

Yes, we did that, but it's still showing in the red for that balance. We both MC, and my fees have been refunded already and are showing on my invoice, so I'm not sure why the red is still showing

Manually mark the item as paid. (drop down list)  on the right.

if I mark it as paid, will I not be charged for the money coming in? I saw that option and wondered that, but then would that not appear that I was given income and then fees would be attributed?

No , its fine to mark paid. Transaction's over and no fees can accrue.
