I am finding more and more that for this particular account I should go to a store, if for nothing else than the number of free listing I would get. The first free 50 lists does not cover this account.
My question is ; I list in USD. With the new currency change, should I get a .com store, or a .ca store? If I go .com I will have to manually switch each listing as I currently list on .ca. Not what I am looking forward to. I know there will be a tool introduced sometime in May to help, but were are still in March.
Does anyone know if this new migration tool is going to work for the migration of .ca stores to .com?

Open a basic store on ebay.ca. The monthly fee will be in Can $ at 19.95 a month (no contract), $15.95 a month (1 year contract with early termination penalty). Get the no contract option for a few months to see how it goes.
If you open on ebay.com, same as above but in US $.
Location of store on eBay.com or eBay.ca does not matter. All listings from all ebay sites will appear in the store. Since the Can $ has a history of being lower than the US $ more often that not, save on store fees.
No migration of store is needed. Listings need to be migrated, not store.

I agree. Open the store on eBay.ca and only pay the fee in Cdn$ (save 30% based on current exchange rate.

Just to be clear. I can open a .ca store. List all my listing in USD as I always do, and when the time expires where ebay no longer allows USD listing on .ca, I will still show listing in USD?

No. If you list on .ca your USD listings will be ended. Even if you opened a store on .com and then did the listings on .ca, the USD listings would be ended once .ca no longer allows USD listings.

"when the time expires where ebay no longer allows USD listing on .ca, I will still show listing in USD?"
To clarify:
1) with a store on eBay.ca you have exactly the same privileges as a store on eBay.com (but pay the monthly fee in Cdn$). Having a store has nothing to do with individual listings
2) a store is a place where ALL your listings show. It has nothing to do with the policy change taking place making eBay.ca a single currency site (Cdn$)
3) ALL your listings regardless of site where listed (.ca .co .uk .de etc...) will appear in your store in the currency of the listings (Cdn$ US$ £ € etc...). When viewers look at your store from eBay.ca, all listings will show Cdn$ (if listed in Cdn$) and equivalent Cdn$ (if listed in US$). In reverse, when viewers look at your store from eBay.com, all listings will show US$ (if listings are listed in US$) and equivalent US$ (if listed in Cdn$). The same currency equivalent principle appears if the store is seen from an overseas site.
For example: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Stamps-Liquidation?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
After June 1st, all sellers, regardless where their store is located, will be able to use .ca when listing in Cdn$ and .com when listing in US$. ALL listings will appear in your store.

No you do not have to open a store on eBay.com. Open on ebay.ca to save on monthly fees.
Migration tool is for listings not store. Store is universal across all sites and your listings on eBay.ca Canada and ebay.com USA will show in store.
Sorry you are having trouble understanding all the posts here. It is simple, open store on ebay.ca. Do not open on ebay.com and pay more needlessly.

"I looks like I will have to open a .com store if I want to remain listing in USD. "
???
Did you read and understand my earlier posts?
A store on eBay.ca costs you less and gives you the very same privileges of listings on ALL eBay sites (.com, .ca, .uk. etc...) in whatever currency the site requires.
That's it. It is that simple.

I get it. It was this post that threw me off.
No. If you list on .ca your USD listings will be ended. Even if you opened a store on .com and then did the listings on .ca, the USD listings would be ended once .ca no longer allows USD listings.
So if I open a .ca store and list in USD, and when the time comes that USD listings on .ca is no longer allowed, I will then be able to migrate my listing to .com , meanwhile keeping my .ca store and all listings that were migrated ? Do I have this right?
in a nut shell, having an .ca store with USD lists.

If I still don't have it right then maybe I am asking the question incorrectly.
Lets try this.
After June 1 , I want to have all my listings show listed in Us funds. Should it be on a .ca store or a .com store

"After June 1"
June 1 has NOTHING to do with it, September 28th has nothing to do with it, December 25th has nothing to do with it, April 1st 2018 has nothing to do with it/
eBay.ca store regardless.
Somehow, the problem comes because you see a link between the currency and the site where you list. There has never been nor will there ever be such link.
Currency of a listing has nothing to do with where the store is located.
The recent announcement of eBay.ca switching to a single currency site has NOTHING to do with having or not having an eBay store. These issues are not related.

Now, any reader interested on this subject (opening an eBay store) please take a few minutes and read this thread once again from the beginning.
Hopefully, by the time you get here again, you will all understand that an eBay store is just an accumulation of all your listings, regardless of the sites where you list (you can list on as many as you want) or the currency used for the listing (dependent on the site)

You are overthinking it. To keep it simple:
1. Open a store on .CA - reason being, $19.95 CAD a month is cheaper than $19.95 USD a month.
2. Then go to my.ebay.com and make your new USD listings (and manually transfer your current .CA listings one-by-one) there because you want to continue to list in USD. That new tool will NOT help with this process because you want to keep listing in USD. That new tool will only help turning USD listings into CAD listings on .CA.
My own experience:
1. I have both CAD and USD listings. I list my CAD listings on my.ebay.ca while I list my USD listings on my.ebay.com and the only reason why I do this is to double dip on the free monthly listings. To do listings on the two different sites you simply login on the other site.
2. I used to have an eBay store on .CA and when I look at my store, I can see BOTH my CAD and USD listings together in my store without issues.
If I don't have this right, poco and pierre please feel free to correct me.

Yes. ALL of my listings showed up properly in my .CA store when I had it.
Since you want to continue to sell in USD only you should list on my.ebay.com from now on.

The new tool will be able to transfer listing on ebay.ca in US$ to ebay.com in US$.
Read the second part of the link on the tool.
The first part is about converting listings on ebay.ca from US$ to Can $.
