What to do - buyer receives item, leaves positive feedback, then a week later wants order cancelled.

This is confusing. I have shipped an item to a new customer ( locally - usually 2 days delivery time ) and he acknowledged receipt by leaving positive feedback 3 days later, at which time i left positive feedback for him.  It is now exactly a week later and last night at midnight I received 2 very rude emails from him through Ebay's "change request for a order" telling me that he wants the purchase cancelled and a refund. I did not have tracking for the item as tracking costs $50.00 in Canada and the item sold was only $10.00. He paid $10.00 shipping which still did not quite cover the cost of shipping to him.  Do I have any rights here, or am I stuck with refunding a scammer? Has anyone had the same experience and how do I deal with this customer so as not to lose my 100% positive Ebay record.

Since he's local and you have his name and address, why not phone him and ask what the problem is. Tell him if he doesn't want the item you can drop by and pick it up.

That may either scare him or confuse him or he may realize that he was complaining about the wrong seller.

Just realizing that you are local and have both his name and address may change his attitude.
