Why do I get all the spam emails from eBay but not the listing sale notifications?

I have 3 ID's on eBay.

Two with eBay.ca and this one that joined eBay.com when it was an option. I list only on eBay.ca due to the new rules on shipping.

This ID has not received an invitation to a listing sale in a very long time. While the other two IDs do often enough.

What I find odd, is that I still had a few free listing left on this ID and was surprised to see the green, "Free subtitle" text. I did not receive an invitation, as it was an invitation only event. I checked "my messages," nothing there, yet as long as the fee showed as 0 I kept adding more listings past the 50 free.

I've been through my eBay on all the ID's to check my notification preferences. Obviously I have this one checked to receive emails and special offers, or I would not be getting the spam at this account's email address.

How do I fix this problem?

EBay seems to be using the listing promotions to encourage new and occasional sellers to list.

So high feedback IDs like ours won't get them. We are already solid customers.

Promotions are meant to inflate the bottom line of the promoter not of the recipient, although if that happens it's a nice side effect.

We're coming up on Q1 and another quarterly report to the stockholders. Since eBay doesn't distribute dividends, they have to keep the gamblers who are planning to buy low and sell the stock high happy. Some of the stockholders are also high level employees of the company.

Having a jump in the number of listings and of listers makes the bottom line look good. It has little or nothing to do with actual sales or fees.

I pretty much figured it was all about the bottom line, all the listing sales that is. Smack me silly when they gave my newest ID both .ca power seller and TRS seals when I reached 51 feedback! What does that tell you?

Still does not help me help them fill up their bottom line if they don't let me know when there is a listing sale where I'm actually included.

I figured they should have sent me an invitation after my total fees for my 50 listings for last month was zero. Would have been nice if they actually had sent me the the invitation.

I did list over 100 items for free, so I had the invitation, I just didn't get one.

That is what I'm looking for, the tech folks to fix whom ever sabotaged(?) my notification system.

Somewhere out there is a lost invitation, and I would like to make sure that I receive the next one.

For as long as I can remember, eBay has had across the board listing sales.

Sometimes they only charged a nickle, or they where free. This happened at least twice a year.

With my sales as low as they have been for the past few years I get the feeling there are quite a few sales I've missed out on?

Problem solved, I hope.

I changed my password and no one is going to get in my ops and mess

with my preferences....I hope.

I know I checked them over often enough (and though all 3 of my sites have different specs,) the two boxes that ask if I want to received special listing sales promotions mysteriously became vacant of check marks.

I'm going to have to be more vigilant.

What I also suspect is that there was an upgrade and the two (receive spam and listing sales) options that where once one, where separated and the one I truly needed became unchecked?

At least I got rid of the spam!
