Why do I have to have a credit card now? :/

I bought many things from eBay using my PayPal account. My bank account is connected to my PayPal. But why do I have to have a credit card now? I can't buy anything and I really don't trust credit cards so there's no way I am getting one. Anyone have an answer to this? :c

The credit card serves as a back up if there is no money in the back accound that is connected to your Paypal.

When you pay through Paypal (instant transfer from back account) with no credit card, the payment is blocked for 7-10 days before it gets cleared.

When your Paypal account is backed with credit card, any instant transfer from back account is instantly cleared and the seller can immediatly send the item to you.

I'm using eBay/Paypal since 2008, you can trust Paypal

ooh, well yeah i understand that. but i mean like.. i never had a problem with it before, and i didn't mind the waiting for my money from my bank account to go to my paypal account. but now i can't do that. it immediately takes me to the credit card thing and i can't use that. :c
