Why r more and more sellers not shipping to Canada?

Maybe, just maybe, a few sellers feel Canadian buyers are constant complainers.

They complain about high shipping costs, they complain about high taxes (GST/HST) to pay when goods come in, often asking seller to illegally undervalue goods for Customs purposes, or designate them as "gift", etc...

It is a question of perception.  Do you blame them?

I noticed this too. They shouldn't be selling on Ebay.ca if they don't want to sell to us Canadians.

"They shouldn't be selling on Ebay.ca"

That is the thing: they do NOT list on eBay.ca.  They list on eBay.com (USA).

Unfortunately, many of the listings by Americans not wanting to ship to Canada somehow appear on eBay.ca.

Many now ship worldwide using GSP (Global Shipping Program) and do not ship directly.  Most Canadians do NOT want to use GSP because of the "import fees" (taxes and brokerage fee) and additional shipping charge.

Canadian buyers have a choice: they can buy and pay or hit the back button and buy from someone else.

If Canada had a population 319 million , I would not worry about selling to a country of only 35 million.

Personally I have had more American complainers than Canadian

I'm not sure I understand your explanation after all I have never paid taxes or import charges from any source except from the us. And the only sellers who often do not sell to Canada seem to be also from the us unless it is items they can only sell to Canada like Harley parts etc.

Perhaps the US sellers feel that people who can not spell  properly     (like to OP  )      are not reliable buyers

My opinion is Alot do not want or need to ship out of country ...

My experience is 90% of all my trouble come from US buyers having to high of expectations and lack of international knowledge when it comes to shipping ...

One buyer freaked on me about a item arriving from China faster i then referred them to the 2010 agreement between the US and China which enabled things to move very qucikly from China to the US ..

All I know is if I did not have to I would not ship International either but unfortunatly Canada is way to small of a customer base ...

American customers always give me more problems than Canadians. With proper communication I have always worked things out to their satisfaction. I find selling to the US harder than Canada, along with the fact that I have more buyers in Canada. Shipping cost to the US is higher than to Canada as well. Our post office is one of the problems. I sell small items like sports cards and other items of the same ilk. There is no way to send an item to the US with tracking unless you send it parcel post. No one is going to pay that for n item that is less than$10. So I cannot give them tracking unless I mail from the us.

One problem is that some Americans seem to have a "thing" about the post office. I guess they seem to think the post office is somehow a shade of communism 🙂 and insist on using couriers. I refuse any shipping method but USPS - which probably a lot of Americans do not want to hear. Recently we had something shipped to us by UPS contrary to agreed terms and it came to the door with a $60 "clearing" fee. What a scam UPS is running. Absolute flat out robbery. There was NO duty or tax payable on this item and if the post office would have cleared it, the maximum they would have charged would have been $9.95 (I believe). I refused to pay the fee and "self-cleared" the item, which was a huge pain in the you-know-what, but got the item with no charge in the end.

Obviously the biggest problem here is the greed of the couriers and I don't think the problem is going away any time soon, unless people raise enough stink.
