to an old address I haven't used for years? Why doesn't it keep the same item location in the original auction listing?

Item location in a listing is based on your postal code in your Account settings. This was a change last year. Double check what your registered address is on eBay and your shipping addresses. Check in My eBay account settings.

I changed them to my new address years ago. Double checked and they're my current address, not my old one.

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago but it was the buyer's address that reverted to an old one. We figured it out when he contacted me because the item had not been received. When I verified the address with him he said he hadn't lived at that address in years. He had also changed it in both his eBay and PayPal accounts when he moved. Also he had purchased many things on eBay with no problems until that transaction. I believe that others were experiencing this around the same time.
