I purchased a key-less entry remote for my car , which according to seller description was compatible with my car Chevrolet Malibu 2005. But it is not so. According to GM technologists it should be Number GM/ L : 22733523 instead of what the seller has sent me which is 22733524. Now if I return the remote according to return policy then it costs me more than the sale price of the item. Please help me to make good the loss
Sincerely
Baljeet Panesar

File a not as described dispute through paypal's resolution centre. You will be required to return the item at your expense and you should use delivery confirmation. If you want a full refund plus original shipping, you will have to return the item. You could always request a shipping reimbursement through paypal once the item has been returned and you get your refund but there is no guarantee the seller would honor the request.

First contact the seller and explain the problem.
Include a picture of the incorrect item.
Ask politely if it would be possible for him to send you the correct item without you returning the incorrect item, since you have no use for what you have, and the error was at his end.
Some sellers will go for this, especially if the item is very cheap. Since you say that returning it would cost more than the item, I assume it is cheap. Remember that he paid even less for it.
Keep it polite.
Give him the alternate choice of refunding rather than replacing. This is actually better for you, especially if you don’t have to return the widget. You can use the money to buy the right thing locally and you don’t run into deadline problems. Then donate the widget to some charity.
If he is not willing, and anything to do with cars you are going to run into people with testosterone poisoning, then you can go to the Paypal dispute.
He may refund at this point without further arguement.
Or he may be required to refund by PP on receipt of the returned widget. This is where you must return with Delivery Confirmation. Use Paypal to print your shipping label. This will allow you to access the otherwise hard to find Expedited Parcel rate. I believe you get an 18% discount from PO counter prices and is Delivery Confirmed.
Note that when you return the item, you become eligible for a refund of any duty or tax you paid on delivery. The CBSA number is on the back of your receipt for that payment. You have to phone. It has nothing to do with eBay or your seller.
If worse comes to worst, you have 60 days to leave appropriate feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings. The latter are more important than FB.
