lag time in paypal notices, for payment received... again..

i have sold something 4 hours ago, and no notice from paypal yet.. i checked paypal and it is there.,,i just sold 2 more coins an hour ago.. no payment notice... so why the lag time.. it is showing in my account ,, but no email notification yet.. not the first time this has happened.. and no it is not my service provider,, i have ran several checks and balances.. to make sure..

They were complaining about this exact thing a couple of weeks ago (I think) on the ebay.com forum ... maybe PayPal doing some upgrades or changes ... they also complained their balances-payments etc were incorrect or late to update also ...

This sort of thing happens from time to time. Sometimes the e-mail will show up immediately, sometimes a few hours later, sometimes a day later, sometimes not at all. That's why I always make sure to check my PayPal to confirm I actually received/sent a payment instead of relying on the e-mails.

Funny enough, when I buy something I seem to always get the e-mail right away. They're quick to confirm they took my money, but not so quick to tell me I got some.

I also just remembered that this subject came up here a couple weeks ago. Just a few hours after I sold something I saw the topic, and I had posted then that I had not yet received the PayPal e-mail but expected it to come through later. It never came.

Yes, it's happening again. I just came onto the board to mention it, and it was already mentioned. I have 2 payments without notices, one is 10 hours late. It seems to happen every 2 or 3 weeks to me.

This type of delayed-notice-of-payment gets to be very tricky if you ship same-day and have an order cut-off time to monitor. Like mine is noon CST. At 11:59 am, an order placed must be dispatched by 9 pm that night when the postal counter (and available window for an acceptance scan) closes. At 12:01 pm, an order placed can wait until the following business day by counter close. The precise minute an order was placed* could be the difference between Late Shipment Defect and not. 

The ebay listing only shows when it ended, not when payment was remit. It's that information from paypal which is more important for on-time shipment efforts. So it it's late.... by minutes, hours, days..... this could pose a pretty major problem at times. I've never had to appeal a Late Shipment Defect on the grounds the payment notice came late due to a paypal bug so I don't know if it's achievable. Though you would hope sellers would not be blamed for something beyond their control such as this. 

*Placed is paid not just bought. Unless you have Immediate Payment Required enabled, then they are simultaneous.

I have been waiting since noon on Saturday for invoices about 8 now & I checked this morning thinking I sold nothing last night at all and found out I had sold 6 items. PP is starting to get some of E-Bays bad habits moving every thing around and screwing up the system.

yes i use the paypal notice to copy and paste the shipping address, and the actual order details. now i have to go into paypal to get the details, because you can't use the ebay info. sometimes the address's are not updated by , buyers. and you have to ship to the paypal address, for seller protection..

I have not received any payment notifications from PAYPAL since 10:44 ET yesterday.

I also have a few sales throughout the day and overnight, nothing from them either.

It makes my order processing process take longer ... 😞

Since I reopened the Store to clear out some stock, I try to keep the listings around 200 or so &  when it comes up to relisting I just hold off for 2 months and list the next 200 and keep it fresh and it seems to be working for me. I don't use Turbo Lister as I use Ink Frog & get the next batch of Auctions ready to go. I found before that some of the BIN were getting stale just flipping over each month

This happens from time to time.  I haven't received PayPal notices for my last two sales.  As long as eBay lets me know an item has been sold, I can check the PayPal transaction details to see that the address is the same as the sold message and that the correct amount has been paid.  Sometimes the PayPal e-mails arrive a few hours later, and sometimes not at all.  I wouldn't worry about it.

I should clarify the comment I just made about the address being the same.  If the "Ship to" address is different than the buyer's address shown on the notice from eBay, I will add a note to the message I send buyers.

"I will ship to the following address which I received from PayPal:"

Otherwise, if the two addresses are the same, I don't bother with that sentence.

Not only have I not received notices of sales from paypal since yesterday, I can no longer get into Paypal to check and make sure of the addresses and payments. PayPal seems to be down now. I tried going to PayPal directly and also via eBay. I guess I will have to wait and try later.

I began getting the Saturday payment notices at about 3am today, so it appears they are working on catching up.... I hope they do it soon it is a real pain in the @$@#@$@#%%@#% to my processes to have to go get the payment transactions individually out of PAYPAL.....

Had the same thing happen to me last night. Sold 2 items - monies in Paypal but no notice from Paypal that $ received. Shipped them both this am & finally got notice from Paypal on the first one. Still have not gotten the notice on the other one.

Had two sales late last night (a couple of minutes apart), but only had one paypal notice show up in the mail box ...
