Quick question some of you have probably ran into this but I have someone who bought a game from me today his eBay says hes based in Japan and the Paypal says hes in the united states **Unconfirmed** . This seems odd to me , wouldn't someone just make a new american account , contacted buyer about 7 hours ago I really don't expect an answer for 2-3 days but maybe someone here has some good or bad knowledge about someone like this. I also probably wont ship until I get an answer.

it's just the Unconfirmed worries me , I have never had an eBay;r/paypal;r with this in there address. I understand people move from Japan to United states every day vice versa it seems like quite a cool and sought after culture change even for a month or 2 even going from Canada to Japan. Just some feed back would be nice from people who have had this same encounter.

First thing, confirmed or not, pretty meaningless really and not unusual for an overseas buyers. There was a time when confirmed addresses were not possible for any non US/Canadian buyers.

As far as the eBay account registered in Japan with a US shipping address, probably just using a mail drop in the US so they can buy from US sellers who won't ship to Japan. It's the same as many Canadians who are registered in Canada but might have a US shipping address that you would only see when they make their payment.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've never had a problem with a Japanese buyer.

Confirmed addresses haven't been required by Paypal for a long time and as recped said, overseas buyers could not be confirmed in the past.I have no idea if they can be confirmed now.

Many overseas buyers have a U.S. shipping address and then have their purchases forwarded from there.

Agree with both of the above. Confirmed went out years ago. They just have not changed the code to remove that aspect.

Like i have said, I have shipped dozens of parcels to Miami and Port Richy. None of them were going there. They were all being forwarded to other countries south and west.
