To my knowledge there is no way to close these things off. There is a 'Feedback on our suggestions' option on the right,
you can kindly offer your thoughts on it but it is unlikely anything will change. Ebay thinks the more items they dangle at us
the more of them we will buy. Who knows, maybe they're right.
The only other thing I can think of is if you make, say, your Watch List as your home page, at the moment you will not be
bombarded with ebay's "hey, buy this!" ads. With time, alas, I suspect we will be seeing more advertising, not less.
