the charges you are throwing in and calling them import charges are a RIP OFF .. you DOUBLED the price of my item I just bought .. if you keep this up I will delete my account and tell everyone about this rip off ..these charges are new and never had to pay for them untill recently .. so whats up not making enough money ??? you are putting items out of reach for canadians ..

This is a response to your non-question!

You should have known what you were getting yourself into before committing to purchase the item! There are links to information on how the Global Shipping Program works right on the listing page! The charges are stated on the listing page and in Checkout!

All items with a declared value of more than $20 are subject to being taxed GST/HST/PST. If the item is sent by mail, the taxes are assessed in Canada, charged by the Canada Border Services Agency and collected by Canada Post who also slaps on a C$9.95 processing/handling charge on top of those taxes.

The deal with items sent by mail is that many mailed items just scoot through customs without anybody doing the paperwork to collect the taxes. The Global Shipping Program doesn't let items go untaxed. This isn't "unfair". It is what it is.

No, the shipping charges for smaller items being sold through the Global Shipping Program aren't cheap. Again, though, the charges are right on the listing page. If you didn't like them, why did you commit to purchase the item in the first place?

I think eBay is slowly erode in term of providing better shopping experiences. The gimmick ' imported' charge' is nothing but shot itself in the foot to turn away international buyers eventually affected by greedy sellers who participate the scheme. Imagine when someone buying something that is not even worth the customs fee nor exceed limited gift value?
The 'imported charge' shouldn't be set by sellers but an option apply only if buyer insist. eBay get it all wrong. Time for shoppers look for alternative shopping site.
