What protection is there for purchasing pre-release dvd's? The release date is longer than 45 days.

Seller is breaking the rules and listing can be reported. You lose buyer protection at 45. Paying with a credit card to have chargeback rights and seller's honesty are what remains.

If you haven't received the DVD open an item received dispute no later than day 43 to be safe, no matter what the seller may be telling you.
