eBay Is Awful!

I don't know what is worse, Scamazon or eBay. Scamazon scams you, while eBay allows scams and doesn't care. I can't report anything unless it's extremely specific circumstances, not things like Seller refuses to ship an item, or contact customer service. They took away live chat, which is ableist and people like me can't get in contact with them.

Navigating the menu for customer service is convoluted. It really went downhill. I can scam a buyer and as long as it shows it was delivered, eBay doesn't care. I had this happen to someone a know and I've heard stories where they sent something to someone who lives somewhere near you. The seller is probably going to send a broken phone or something else either to me or someone else, regardless, eBay won't mcare and they'll get away it. I'm done. I hate how everything is either a scam as if it's become legallised or no one cares which is just as bad.Everyone is only in it for the money and themselves, and that is one of the biggest issues of the world. I'm done with eBay. I will do a charge back and it's literally the only option and delete my account. I recommend everyone do the same. If everyone started doing that, maybe eBay and Scamazon will change, and any other awful company...

Re: eBay Is Awful!

Feeling better?

What is the actual problem?

Not just your upset and worry.

You bought a Thing.

It has not arrived.

Has the last day for delivery passed?
Have you opened an Item Not Received Dispute with eBay?

Go to-> My eBay (top right of page)

Go to-> Purchases

Go to->the purchase

Go to -> More Actions (dropdown)

Go to-> I didn't receive it

Go to-> I'd like a refund.

You have 30 days from the last estimated date for delivery to open a Claim

Now.

If you are told the item has been received, come back and give more detail.

Re: eBay Is Awful!

Welcome to life!

I hear ya about the A site. I have prepaid for Prime until April, 2026. I cancelled my account due to their useless 'help' system (a bunch of robots in serious need an upgrade) being unable to resolve my issue.

They, in turn, cancelled my Prime video feed. They are not responding to my request for a refund for the unused portion as described in their policy - I guess the robot who keeps telling me how much they care and will do anything to keep me, is one of those who needs to visit the software department.

The eBay robots are much nicer, still way too many them, but if you nag them enough, you can get to a human.

Not everyone has your experience...many of us do very well with purchasing from these sites..

You do you, and the rest of us will make out own choices, thank you...

Reporting a Seller:

https://www.ebay.ca/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/report-issue-seller?id=4022

If you do not see the particular category you want to report there, use the "Report a Seller" link at the bottom to reach this page:

https://www.ebay.ca/help/action?topicid=4022

You can choose "The seller has violated one of eBay's policies" to provide further details, and there is an option for "Seller does not want to complete the sale".

They took away live chat

You may be better off asking your question here to get suggestions from experienced users.

If tracking shows delivery but nothing arrives:

If the buyer can obtain some hard copy documentation (email is not good enough) that says that the package was not delivered to the buyer's address or something that shows the weight or size of the package cannot possibly correspond to the ordered item, or the shipping date precedes the order, then the buyer may be able to contact eBay via social media direct message, provide that documentation to eBay and get help with "false tracking".

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

With "false tracking" if you go through a standard automated "item not received" case, on the other hand, you will lose the case because the seller can provide tracking that appears to show delivery. If you then appeal, you may have some additional options at that point. It appears that eBay has added a new appeal option regarding "delivery to another address", but I do not know how effective that is compared to contacting eBay via social media with documentation and explicitly mentioning "false tracking", which seems to work provided you can obtain the necessary documentation.

If you are unable to get help through eBay, you may have recourse through your payment method, though you should probably exhaust all your eBay options first since once you go through your payment method, eBay will no longer help with that transaction.

In general, you can avoid a lot of headaches by choosing to purchase only from established sellers that have recent and past positive feedback as a seller for selling items in the same category that you intend to buy. If someone is selling a dozen apple watches, but has no feedback, or only has feedback as a buyer, or only has feedback for selling dress patterns or fishing lures (actual examples I have seen), perhaps wait until they have a track record of positive feedback for selling electronics before you buy from them.

Re: eBay Is Awful!

Thank you. The problem is, I can't report item didn't arrive, becuase they never sent it and it is not supposed to be delivered until the 18th. I tried cancelling, but they declined it this morning, so when I go cancel an order, it says 'Cancallation exists' and won't let me put in a request. There doesn't seem to be way to report the issue, such as conflict, seller being unresponsive. The phone is the only item they currently have. It seemed like a good deal, but due to their behaviour, now I won't take it even if it was for free. I feel they are trying to scam me or something.I unfortunately, bought another, I can't afford to pay for two, even if they do send it. I natrually assumed the cancellation would go through since they didn't send it and I put in the cancellation on Friday.

I don't understand whythey would refuse to ship it and cancel my cancellation request, unless it's something specific. It worries me that now they have my address, so I'm a bit anxious.

Re: eBay Is Awful!

Oh, and btw, the only way I can contact A about a refund is to log on to their site, of which I no longer have access to because my account has been closed!

Duh ... too funny to rant about, but I would like my 75 bucks back!

@kamrynsaywhaaattt

Sellers are not required to cancel just because a buyer requests it; just because there is no tracking update may not mean the item has not shipped. The seller cannot cancel if the item has shipped, obviously.

Once the order was placed, you have to wait until the day after the last estimated delivery date to file an "item not received" claim. The seller will have three business days to provide tracking that shows delivery; if the seller does not cooperate after that point, you have up to twenty-one business days to ask eBay to step in and force a refund.

Seems to me a lot of your worrying is premature given that the item isn't due to arrive until the 18th, @kamrynsaywhaaattt.

What happens between when you purchase the item and when it's estimated to arrive is largely immaterial.  Save your anxiety until the 18th and make yourself a cup of tea or go for a walk.
