cancellation fee

On August 17, I received an email from eBay saying that they had made an offer on my item.
I accepted it.
Then, I was told that they couldn't print the address because the shipping fee wasn't paid.
I contacted eBay and spoke to them, but they said it was my fault.
I only received the email.
They contacted eBay and told me they had said the same thing.
They messaged me saying they had made an offer on my item.
Hello, i was not aware that my offer was accepted as i have not been on eBay since i placed it. I did not authorize the payment and do not know how you could have received a payment without authorization!
This is the reason.
So why did I have to pay a cancellation fee?
I was charged $3.42.
Please correct the mistake with the buyer and refund the cancellation fee.
The amount is small.
But this is wrong.
The customer service was terrible.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: cancellation fee

This is a public forum for eBay members=This is not eBay customer service or customer support or anything to do with eBay office. There are proper cancellation processes that must take place within eBay so you will need to sort this out with an eBay support person, best done thru the eBay Facebook page as any so-called "phone support" is as useless as can be...

@birdseyefshion

On August 17, I received an email from eBay saying that they had made an offer on my item.

You were the seller?

And there is a customer who made an offer?

Or are you the buyer?

Then, I was told that they couldn't print the address because the shipping fee wasn't paid.

Who is "they"?

Best Offers do not include shipping costs. Those are not changeable.

  • If I have a listing at $100 +$10 shipping, you can Offer $90+$10 shipping but you cannot offer $90with Free Shipping.

The customer is billed the full amount, Offer+shipping+taxes.

Until that is paid, the seller cannot see the address of the customer. (A security policy.)

I did not authorize the payment and do not know how you could have received a payment without authorization!

So you were the buyer and did not pay for your purchase? (That is was from an Offer is irrelevant at this point.)

So why did I have to pay a cancellation fee?

How were you billed this cancellation fee?

Did it come on your monthly statement?
