why is ebay so slow last few months? takes 90 sec to 2 min to load one page!?

on my ebay seller page, takes forever! so frustrating, no viruses on my pc. I run Mozilla and Windows 10 home 64 bit. Been so slow last few months.

Does the page load faster if you use another browser?

If so, try clearing your cache and possibly your eBay cookies in Firefox.

Windows 10 64 bit user here also. I use Edge and Chrome browsers, over the last year both had become in general slower.

The other day while poking around my Windows Power Settings because of an unrelated matter, I noticed the default (recommended) setting included limiting hardware performance quite severely, by memory I think it was set at 50 - 60% of maximum. There is a slider bar there in Power Settings which I adjusted up to max performance, as a result there has been a noticeable improvement in speed. Everything seems faster especially file operations but I feel it has made a difference with eBay too. I really cannot say whether W10 has always defaulted to that Power saving mode or maybe one of the major updates made changes there. My machine dates from the W8 era if that matters, it was considered a reasonably high performance outfit when new. Looks like it won't be upgradeable to W11 ... bummer.

This may sound stupid, but do you have a wireless mouse?

I find when my wireless mouse has a low battery, my FaceBook account gets strange. Slow to load comments, lots of missing pictures.

This does not affect other sites.

 When I recharge the mouse, everything is fine again.

Just a thought.

I use Windows 10 latest version updated on an eight year old Lenovo laptop with a fast SSD hard drive and 8 GB of RAM.

I have Edge browser for one eBay selling account, Firefox for another eBay buying account and Google Chrome for another selling account. All browsers open at the same time with multiple tabs open in each. 

I have not noticed any slowdowns on eBay over the past year selling.

I use a free utility called Core Temp which runs on startup and displays in my windows task bar on bottom right the average temperature of the 4 cores of the CPU, the percentage of RAM used, the percentage of System Load, and last the current CPU speed that is being used. All dynamic and updated every second or less.

Very informative and immediately visible if my computer is stressed which is rare.

I used this tool for ten years or more on different computers I have used for Ebay (mostly desktops).

I have had this laptop for two years and it was a leftover from a company upgrade at my wife’s business.

Are you running the latest version of Firefox? Browser software ages fast these days, eBay may not be optimized for older versions. The circa 2016 browser on my old phone started having trouble with the ebay site last year too.

I also have all my browsers set to clear cache and cookies when I exit the browsers. So no old eBay code lurking.

I also have a free utility called CCleaner installed the cleans up Windows temp files on startup. No old eBay code lurking to mess up eBay.

Again doing this for years which I believed minimized issues with my computer and using it for eBay and reading the internet and online shopping.

I forgot to mention that I shutdown my computer every day. This is to make sure it gets cleaned each day as well as save electricity.

I also reused my display and wireless keyboard and mouse from my old desktop. I was used to the larger display and the mouse and keyboard.

Using the laptop itself with smaller display and keyboard and glide pad for mouse was too much change.

I use Firefox as well and ebay is as fast as any other site.  For a while the community was slow at loading for me but I think that was a Khoros issue.
