I am getting an error message "Sorry, we were not able to generate the label. Please make sure the parcel size is within allowed limits, and both addresses are correct."
It started on Monday and I still can't place a shipping label order for every shipping services like Canada Post, UPS, FedEx, etc for domestic and international orders.
I have printed hundreds of labels this year with the same service, weight, and package size. I haven't changed my shipping address too.
I had to purchase the labels directly from Canada Post for the past four days, which is more than double the cost.
Does anyone have this issue or know how to fix this error? I have tried entering HS tariff codes and setting the item weight the same as my package weight too. Also, I have tried countless times to generate a label on the ebay.ca website, resetting my browser's cache, and the iPad app.

I was able to print labels this morning through Shipping Chimp (around 11am). I think the prices might have even decreased a bit.

Were you able to print Canada Post labels? I have a Shippo account but can't figure out how to access their shipping labels.

Yes, canada post labels. You would be best contacting Shippo, you may not have carriers set up properly.

THis is a Canada Post technical issue as per the Canada Post website:
https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/doc/status-etat/maintenance-scheduled-planifiee-x.html
This is not unique to eBay>affects other selling sites as well.

Thanks Merritt, managed to figure it out, been a while since I used Shippo, however now I'm getting error messages from them too about problems making Canada Post labels. Going to call my post office next.

I haven't used Shippo in quite a while myself but if you went from eBay print labels there was a teeny tiny "Go To Shippo" in the smallest font on the main page from eBay (like they had to show you but hoped you didn't see it kinda-small); if you have already linked Shippo to eBay account it should be there. If you haven't linked eBay to Shippo you should since it then copies all the info over from the listing (item description, etc. for customs) automatically. If you have used them (Shippo) this way in the past but didn't use them for a while (because eBay label rates were better) you may have to re sync them again after a certain amount of time. I had to do that when I stopped selling for about a year at the start of Covid. But as mentioned I haven't used them for a while myself so things may have changed.

I went to check my Shippo account. I did have to re sync them with my eBay account, because I haven't used them in a while. But shipping cost is almost twice the amount on eBay (around $8 on eBay vs a little more than $13 on Shippo). I will wait until tomorrow to see if eBay labels are finally up and running. Otherwise, I won't have a choice to use Shippo. But I will loose money for sure.

Yes, that's why I haven't used them for so long either! Doesn't hurt to have a back up just in case.

Are you setup to use Shippo's discount rates, or a connected sfsb account rate?
07-02-2025 09:56 PM
Yes, but I will have to check if they still have my info. Although I just have the first level. Been a while since I used my account. eBay labels are way cheaper.

How much did you lose on the shipping. I just had a small sale. Customer paid for tracked at 10.50. Only options are UPS at 17.50 and Fedex over 23.00. Hopefully it will all be up and running by am.

Still cant get get labels for Canada Post on ebay so I got some on chitchats for more or less the same price.
Its a wild time to run a small ecommerce business in Canada right now

I agree on having a backup plan. I have never been a fan nof Shippo but I find that they are the only platforn that allows me create return shipping labels for my American customers so I do check in from time to time as that's an invaluable service.

It's strange, because Shippo is $5 higher than eBay for my small tracked packet.

Shippo rates were comparable to ebay rates. Nothing was lost on shipping.
I wonder if you printed CP labels?
250g / TP with Ebay is 7.20, while through Shippo is 9.80.
And Shippo CP seems to be dead, as well. (9:30 AM ET)
