Anyone having trouble generating a shipping label?

I am getting an error message "Sorry, we were not able to generate the label. Please make sure the parcel size is within allowed limits, and both addresses are correct."

It started on Monday and I still can't place a shipping label order for every shipping services like Canada Post, UPS, FedEx, etc for domestic and international orders.

I have printed hundreds of labels this year with the same service, weight, and package size. I haven't changed my shipping address too.

I had to purchase the labels directly from Canada Post for the past four days, which is more than double the cost.

Does anyone have this issue or know how to fix this error? I have tried entering HS tariff codes and setting the item weight the same as my package weight too. Also, I have tried countless times to generate a label on the ebay.ca website, resetting my browser's cache, and the iPad app.

Re: Anyone having trouble generating a shipping label?

Unable to print labels on eBay, Shippo, SnapShip and my local post office is still down. Will try a SD Mart in town later today since I have to go to town anyway. My latest sales don't have to ship until Monday so hope it's fixed by then.

Shippo rates were comparable to ebay rates. Nothing was lost on shipping.

I wonder if you printed CP labels?

250g / TP with Ebay is 7.20, while through Shippo is 9.80.

And Shippo CP seems to be dead, as well. (9:30 AM ET)

Does anyone else see the problem of eBay letting buyers pay for the discounted ebay label rate but NOT letting sellers purchase that same discounted postage using eBay labels? Last time this happened was a "potential" CP strike. Took them several days to turn the option back on leaving sellers in the lurch or having to take a loss.

We just put out eBay store on time away for this reason.

It's like letting someone drive into a parking lot but not letting them drive out.

Hmm...   What's eBay Canada's handling time?

How many eBay Shipping Supplies" $40 coupon expiring June 30 " orders will get dinged...

or will eBay get labels from Shippo or SnapShip?...

Stay tuned. LOL 🤓

Re: Anyone having trouble generating a shipping label?

We've just been using UPS, right now they're around the same cost as CP because ebay is saving us like 80% maybe because of this outage.

@videotimeplus

My most recent customer paid a little over 10.00. Price with UPS is 17.50. Fedex is 24.00. Unfortuately for the sale no room to eat that amount of loss.  Hopefully this will be fully resolved before the US holiday kicks in and eBay USA goes into hiatus mode until next week......some time?

With the Shippingsuppliesstore they really don't care what shipping is? Much of what is raked in is gravy considering the selling price of those supplies. As an example the labels if they were using ebay labels could be shipped at a substantial discount. It appears they use their own account for shipping labels vs the ebay account. What they are doing during the current limbo rock we are going through is anyones guess.

Re: Anyone having trouble generating a shipping label?

Shippo is working for canada post labels this am. Just printed all our lables, no problems. Very small losses on shipping, but they are getting shipped.

My screeshot is from my Shippo account. It's not working here.

Maybe the distance might explain the difference - you live 4.500 km to the west 😃

@lotzofuniquegoodies

I just printed my SnapShip labels

 * 300 gram TrPkt label to Wisconsin. Buyer paid $13.74 Snapship cost =$15.47

* 200 gram Expedited label to Creston BC (400 km from me) Buyer paid eBay Exp Lite incl handliing = $8.78

SnapShip cost =$19.38.

S&H Losses = -$12.33  Profit from both widgets less eBay fees = $22.70

minus S& H loss = Net $10.37.

Time to get on my bike and pedal the orders 4Km round trip to the postal outlet.

This is what I mean when I say I sell online for my health.  Haha.

Of course as soon as I get back eBay labels will be up and running. You can thank me for making that happen... 🚲 🚲🚲

Newbie Disclaimer:  If riding your bike or scooter never use the $10 profit stopping at the pub after the post office. Trust me, it defeats the entire health benefit of selling on eBay.

Crash

I just cleared cache and cookies for smiles and chuckles. No difference. IF other shipping systems are working this appears to be an eBay issue with an on/off switch somewhere down the line.

As a side because this is such a major issue users are snagging whatever post gets them to a match of the problem and  not checking dates.

Went through the "available" options at supply store this morning. Interestingly they suggest there are choices based on quantity variations. Clicking on any of them gives you only 1 choice. Kinda like when Ford made the Model T and you could get it in any colour you wanted......as long as it was black. The store was up to 35 products. Now down to 25.

Heads up one and all. The coupon is now available for 3rd quarter.

Considering the number of customers concerns with customs lately, about to lose my generic expired cookies due to a lack of cash flow. Throw in these recent postal kerfuffles....oye vey!!!

Re: Anyone having trouble generating a shipping label?

For what it's worth, the eBay Shipping Supplies Store clearly doesn't use eBay Labels, because I got a ship notification yesterday for the boxes I ordered, with a Canada Post label showing as being printed at 9:30 am on July 2 lol.

I don't even know how they printed that label considering even Canada Post's own online SnapShip and commercial shipping platforms were also down much of yesterday. Weird.
