Canada Post Expedited Lite Rate

Is there an issue with Canada Post rates through eBay Labels? I went to buy a label this morning and my expedited lite rate was higher that what Ebay has calculated and collected from the buyer, they collect $6.47 and charge me $8.20 to print the label

Do you use calculated shipping or flat rate when listing. some of you said that the price changed automatically.

This affecteing a lot of sellers at a very critical time for sales. I would encourage a fast resolution on this form the shipping team.

Hoping to hear back with some updates asap. Otherwise, I'm going to have to set myself to vacation mode during the Christmas Holiday season and revamp things. The rates being posted today are totally unsustainable and would cut out a lot of sales being worth the effort. I sold a christmas related item this afternoon and i'll be losing money with shipping label costs drastically changing overnight.

My expedited lite rates went from like 7.60 average to 14.50, will have to remove most of my listings

I had one to BC that would have cost about $7 now costing $10.90.

Stallion wanted $13.41 for the same package, so no savings to go anywhere else. They seem to get you any way they can on the fees and expenses. If it's not one thing it's another. I'm struggling to make sales and deal with the tariffs situation and now my Canadian shipping costs are all out of whack.

Canadian small/micro businesses can't catch a break. The Canada Post strike last Christmas, Trump's tariffs and removal of de minimus, a second Canada Post strike, and now this holiday season, our cheapest tracked shipping option on this platform is being toyed with. 

The lack of communication by eBay is salt in the wound.

I noticed is that for items going to the eIS hub, expedited lite is the exact same cost as expedited parcel. I contacted customer service about this and the worker was not helpful at all and would not listen to me. He kept saying it is surge pricing in effect FROM Canada Post, but if that was the case then the expedited parcel rate would be higher as well, which it is not. 
The Expedited Lite discount is clearly just not working at all, and they refused to open a ticket for it. Really unfortunate to happen right at our busiest selling time of the year...

I'm on the phone with customer service right now and someone in the Philippines is trying to tell me that the rates are just higher because of the holidays.

When I told him that isn't how that works in Canada, he hung up on me

Sounds about right.

I requested a call because they removed a banknote from Oman with a note that said I listed something from Iran which is embargoed. I requested a call to tell them Oman and Iran aren't the same country and I want the policy violation removed from my account. Conveniently her computer froze. I told her than transfer me to someone who's computer is not frozen. She said she couldnt' do that and disconnected me. Then it wouldn't let me request another call back because it said I had to wait for the original call I requested (which was disconnected).

Same thing here...the prices for Lite are the same as Parcels. Right now it is costing me between 17.46$ and 30.89$ to ship a 100g item... If someone makes an order I'll be losing a LOT of money since I am selling under 20$ items and offer free shipping. Putting myself in vacation mode until something changes.

Respectfully, don't waste your time contacting customer service for issues like this. They will just make things up to try and appease you. 

Most of them don't even know what Expedited Lite is, let alone the true reason why our rates have ballooned.

The eBay for Business Facebook page used to be staffed by agents that were very knowledgable and really good at solving issues, but eBay has recently deleted that page.

I did a package on the weekend for 6.02 to Montreal. I went to check what it would cost today and it's 8.87!!

So yeah, a 50% increase.

My stuff can often go lettermail without tracking, but I prefer to put tracking to avoid losses.

We are now on Day #5 of this issue with no official communication from eBay. This is affecting sellers during the busiest shopping season of the year and it is quite frankly unacceptable.

Perhaps Canada Post can no longer afford to provide that "cheapest tracked shipping option", which was only an agreement between eBay and Canada Post>NO WHERE else...and maybe eBay and Canada Post are still negotiating"something">which equates to just maybe eBay support/eBay employees have NO update at this point and have nothing that can be said or passed on ...

We can play the maybe game all day long:

- Maybe it is a glitch in the Canada Post/eBay system and the prices shown are incorrect but will be correctly billed to the account at the lower rate

- Maybe the discount expired and these are the new Expedited Lite rates permanently

- Maybe it is temporary holiday surge pricing and will return to normal in 3 weeks

Maybe is not helpful. Whatever the situation is, it should be communicated to us so we can adapt accordingly. If it's just a glitch, then it will be status quo. If it's permanent, then we can adjust our prices to include the cost of the increase. If its temporary, we can temporarily adjust prices.

This increase happened abruptly and without notice. We deserve to know what the situation is so we can adjust our operations accordingly.

...Why?......"should" does not equate to a requirement...

and as I have previously mentioned in other threads and pertaining to the general Canada Post-Etsy discount rates on the Etsy selling site for Etsy shipping Labels, the nice discounted rates of Canada Post-Etsy disappeared back in July and although there are still discounts with the Etsy-Canada Post shipping labels, they are no where near the previous discounted rates and there was no announcement from Etsy/no "warning" and Canadian Etsy sellers were never given any explanation, for that change in the discounted rates,  but we Canadian Etsy sellers suspect that likely Canada Post and Etsy did not renew that previous discount agreement and the result was "a" discount, but nothing close to that previously given discount.
