Forwarding Company

Hello everyone,
First of all, I chose a long time ago to sell my products only in Canada and the United States. Last week, a buyer from Ukraine purchased a music box set for $350.00 to be shipped to a forwarding company in Ontario. My first reaction was to cancel, then I decided to contact Ebay. After speaking with two different representatives, they convinced me to ship the box set, ensuring I had sufficient insurance and a signature. The box set was delivered the next day, and someone signed for it. Today, the buyer tells me that the company in Ontario can't find the package and that the signature isn't recognized.
Can you please clarify whether I am protected by Ebay in a similar situation?
Thank you for your help.

Was the forwarding company's address the address used in the transaction details, or did the buyer provide that separately in a message?

Echo what @marnotom! asked.  If you shipped tracked to the address provided by the buyer through eBay, then you have completed your requirements.

Yes, I used the address provided by Ebay.

Re: Forwarding Company

Shipping to a freight forwarder is generally the second* safest address you can have.

Your responsibility for delivery ended when the forwarder accepted it.

The box set was delivered the next day, and someone signed for it.

The tracking number will show delivery. The signature is just icing on the cake.

If the buyer opens a Item Not Received claim, you give the tracking number and win the case.

If the buyer then opens a chargeback, eBay will back you, but again you must manually show the Proof of Delivery. Don't trust anyone else to have it or do it.

The buyer's arguement is with the forwarder.

Not with you.

You have no responsibility for the incompetence of the forwarder.

*The safest is a Post Office box, since the owner of the box needs either a key or to sign for delivery at the PO counter.
