One of my customers contacted me last night to tell me my store link doesn't work anymore...
www.ebaystores.com/roncarmichaelstamps
doesn't work anymore.
I probably missed some announcement saying this stuff was changing....any info anyone has would be appreciated.....
(If I google myself and get to the store backwards, it looks like now it has to be
stores.ebay.com/Ron-Carmichael-Stamps
I thought it might be to do with the HTTP/HTTPS stuff, but both are/were HTTP still....
Every day is a new adventure...once I get figured out what it is supposed to be I'm going to go have to change some in print ads etc....!!

If I click on your red door, it brings me to:
http://stores.ebay.ca/roncarmichaelstamps
"stores" and "ebay" changed places

Dang it. I have work to do around this too if the links have changed. Aggravating.

I do have to say despite the a bit longer than usual wait to get to them, I do appreciate the "special" support people I get access to with the pretty healthy cost of the anchor subscription. Makes paying it every month a tiny bit less painful.
Anyway on to the news:
The "outside ebay storename" should now be:
stores.ebay.com/roncarmichaelstamps
(or stores.ebay.ca/roncarmichaelstamps if you prefer to live on .CA)
This should work now, and after the HTTPS world awakens too.....

I remembered your post and thought I should change the url on my packing slip but then realized that I already had it as stores.ebay.ca/PJs-Bags-n-Stuff
I haven't changed that on my packing slip in a long time so the format must have changed quite a while ago. Perhaps the address would work both ways at one time and now it only works the 'new' way?

Hi Pjc! Yes you are correct!
They changed it a long time ago but both worked until some point not too long ago......because it was a pain to change it everywhere, I left it the old way.....

Yep if I do the same in .COMland, it is
http://stores.ebay.com/roncarmichaelstamps
Looks like I'll have to change the ads to
"stores.ebay.com/roncarmichaelstamps"
arghhh more stuff on the "to do" list.....
Ah yes, the never-ending "to do" list of the eBay seller! If it weren't for sharp-eyed sellers like you bringing things like this up, we'd never know, and just go blithely along in the dark, thinking everything was fine (while our sales slumped).
Now I'll have to check (and probably change) all the URLs and links in all the places I think I've put them. Ughhhhh.
BTW, do you think this is connected with the "htttp vs. https" issue at all, and that's why eBay has dropped the older version(s)? You've said above that on .com the link goes to the "http" URL.
This is getting ridiculous. Next we'll all be needing to pay outside experts to help us be able to sell effectively on eBay.

Hi Rose!
As far as I know it is nothing to do with the "HTTPS" stuff....
A looonnnnggg time ago they changed the names of the stores but the "original" names continued to work.
I generally have adopted the "wait to change it until I have to" attitude....
It would have been nice to see something in the announcements about the old names not working anymore tho....
On the good news side the various societies and print media that I use have all already responded and fixed it. It is nice to see places that still appreciate sellers!!!

I went to reorder my business cards today so that I can do a double-sided card with my store on ebay on one side and my own online store on the other (to be used during the process of migration) and double-checked my listed ebay address which I retyped into the browser bar. It's okay. I last ordered business cards about six months ago. What I put on business cards in the spring is still valid today. Were the original store names something that was grandfathered? Or is it one of those disconnection between stores originating from ebay.ca versus ebay.com?

Whoops, on review I see pj covered this awhile ago. Never mind, sorry!
