How does EIS work?

I am in the process of updating the COO on all of my listings and was curious how EIS will work when they enroll me.

I only want NON-CUSMA items to be shipped via EIS. Ideally to make things even more specific I would only want EIS for NON-CUSMA items that are being shipped into the USA ONLY! (since shipping to other international countries isnt a headache and this is strictly a trump/ usa problem).

If I get enrolled, how do I controll which listings use the program and can I change the option back and forth? and is it possible to only use the EIS for the USA and not ALL international destinations?

The only real need I have for this program is for NON-CUSMA items going strictly into the USA which makes up maximum 20% of my orders annually.

I may even limit my use of EIS for China COO items going into the USA tbh because it seems like the European tariffs might get overturned by the supreme court soon.

Let me know!

Thanks

They hinted that some flexibility would be allowed for the seller to specify which listings would be going through eIS and which would not.

But, as the program is still in its early stages, it's hard to say how this would be implemented.

Check this part, from the FAQ section of eIS Canada:

I already ship to the US - does being in eBay International Shipping override my shipping policy?

No, your existing shipping policy will still be visible to buyers, who will have the choice between eBay International Shipping and whatever shipping policy you offer to that country. If you do not have a separate shipping policy to a particular country, your item will be visible to buyers with eBay International Shipping, meaning all your orders to that country will flow through the eBay International Shipping program.

From what we can see on our end, once you are enrolled into eIS you can add additional, non-eIS international shipping options to your listings on a country by country basis. However, you cannot prevent a specific item from being part of eIS.

When you have a non-eIS shipping option in a specific listing, the buyer still has the option to choose eIS.

which shipping option shows up first to the buyer? My shipping options or the EIS?

If EIS is the default I’ll just opt out completely because it will be more than what I advertise with chit chats and that will drive away business

This is a listing I found probably just shy of a week ago.  Things may have changed since then.  You're free to go on a search party and check out other sellers' listings.
