Just take the duties off at the point of customer payment, just like taxes and the the @#$R#@@ fees.

eBay isn't a delivery company that's been legally empowered to advance taxes, duties, and tariffs when necessary.

It IS necessary. It's no different than charging taxes, both are remitted to the government.

Not sure this is correct - I checked with Netparcel today when I was having issues getting into Canada Post to see how I would go about sending to the states through them and was told that I just fill out the shipping label order like normal and they take care of the new charges (duties/tarrifs etc) and it gets charged to my Netparcel account - they are a shipping provider just like eBay shipping is so why can't eBay provide that? It goes through Netparcel's Canada Post account and they charge it back to you, so it seems to me that eBay could be doing the same thing the same as they do with a shipping label...

There is no reason why NetParcel would be able to provide Canada Post labels without having the Declaration ID supplied by Zonos.
Can someone confirm whether NetParcel will actually let you complete the transaction and purchase/print the label without providing any Zonos Declaration ID? If it is somehow letting you complete the transaction then NetParcel is using Automated Billing through their own Zonos account and I guess will bill the customers later? I find it difficult to believe they're doing this as it would result in surprise charges billed to their customers after the fact. But who knows.

this is the exact quote from Netparcel: Our team advised that we have already made the Zonos integration from our end under our account with Canada Post. Any applicable clearance fees will be billed to netParcel, and this applies to the "my netParcel account" (DDP) option from the bill-to party.
so they take care of it through their Netparcel Canada Post account and bill it back to the sender on your Netparcel account - so Zonos is charging Netparcel and Netparcel is charging the sender.

I'm still surprised by that if true. Hopefully that doesn't cause issues at customs clearance since the sender on the shipping label is different than the sender of record on the Zonos account.
Who knows. This is all very new.
