Hi everyone, im writing this because I am really frustrated, a local friend who lives in the same town as me and has been over to my home has recently started selling on ebay, I showed him how its done and how to make money, anyways I guess he is jealous but he made a second fake ebay account and bought 5 or 6 of my listings and left negative feedback right away without paying , he then also cancelled one of the transactions, i opened unpaid item cases and reported all the feedback, but there is still one negative feedback left on my account from the order he cancelled, he never paid and we never exchanged any words he just bought it , left negative feedback, and cancelled, my account is now at risk of below standard and ive reported the feedback constantly but ebay has done nothing !! this malicious competitor also messaged me from his legitimate account saying "you now have competition, i will beat you to all the thrift stores before you and sell more then you" is that not proof that he is linked to the malicious fake account? I stated to ebay the malicious account owner was the legitimate account owner as well who is selling on ebay. I want this feedback removed from my account ASAP!! anything I can do? and he is still following me i have him blocked as a bidder but I cannot remove him as a follower and its really unsetteling because he can just make another fake account and do this to me again.

I'm sorry to hear this is happening. If you want to have that feedback removed, you have to call ebay and cite the specific passage that the CSRs can reference until they can see it themselves. Good luck.

I recently had someone leave retaliatory NFB for me (not this id), and it was crystal clear what was happening.

EBay agreed that it was retaliatory NFB but in the end I was told that the only way they'd remove the NFB was if my buyer clearly stated that it was retaliatory FB.

Do you have a message like that which was sent within the eBay system.

If not, try to get one.  Sometimes if you give them enough rope they'll hang themselves.

Proving that your buyer is leaving NFB because he competes with you is very difficult.

Send him a message clearly stating that you have blocked him and why you will not sell to him.  Make sure you do it via eBay email so they have access to that email.

That way if he opens another account and buys from you you'll be able to show that the buyer was blocked and was getting around the system via a new id.

However, I think that you see the problem you're facing as bigger than one NFB.

As far as getting to the thrift shops before you etc.,

don't put any energy into worrying about that.   It's not just the two of you competing.

Also, your buyer turned seller now has the joy of watching every sale to see if you retaliate.

That has to be stressful for him.    Knowing that he's made his own world a little more difficult by his actions should give you some satisfaction.

Also, weigh the pros and cons of starting a new selling id.

Since you only have a FB score of 57 that might be an option for you.

Your competitor will probably find you, but maybe not and the FB won't be an issue.

I just read your message again.

It sounds like you have one of his NFBs removed so you should be able to get this one removed as well.

Yes they had removed the 5 feedback from the listings he never paid for after 3 days, but the order he cancelled and left negative feedback for is still there, ive reported it several times, also if I start a new ebay account will I have limitations for 90 days again? I worked very hard to establish 100% positive feedback on this account and have over $2000 in sales It would be frustrating to start over. I honestly don't want to instigate this person anymore because they always have to "win" in these situations, I just want the feedback off my account and to be left alone in peace.

Then follow mjw's advice above and call eBay again.

Persist and ask to talk a supervisor etc. until you get someone who understands English.

I can't see any good reason you can't have it removed.

Visit the weekly Chat Session, every Wednesday with Raphael.

Five negatives were removed... but not the sixth.

All negatives were from the same "attack"

All negatives should have been removed... all from the same malicious  person.

This  supposed "friend" has shown his true colors....

If he persists,  he will eventually  be removed from eBay.....most likely.

Nobody needs a painful experience.

Probably. But you can also ask eBay for a shorter limitation period after 30 days and again 30 days later.

But then so is the 'frenemy'. And you have more experience and better ethics than him.

Somehow I imagine his FB account filled with false positive feedbacks and screaming Responses, if he always has to "win" in these situations.

And then you can go thrifting in peace.

Best wishes.

Best lesson to take from this.. dont "teach" anybody how to do what you do. Money makes people do horrible things.
