eBay US packing list and picklist menu, are we going to see this too?

We have all our shipments packaged by UPS before being shipped out to the customer. Instead of using a picklist, the packing slips helps UPS identify which box goes with which order and to which customer. The packing slips on the eBay US side has useful options in which you can remove such as pricing and shipping costs... and add such as eBay store info and QRC link. The packing slips popup menu on eBay US has a list of options to choose from and print. Are we eventually going to see this on the Canada website?

Who knows? I sure don't. Some updates make it to DOTca but many times it takes years for them to arrive if ever. I agree the new packing slips are a big improvement, even though most of my sales originate from DOTca I've been including the new DOTcom slip inside every shipment.

For myself, the new packing slip doesn't work well. I've always copied and pasted the packing slip onto my own template with a thank you etc message to buyers.    Quite a few of my items are shipped by lettermail so in that case, I also copy and paste the shipping address on the old packing slip so that I can print the address out.  With the new slips, nothing can be copied and pasted so if the new slips are on both platforms,  I will have at least 2 extra steps just to copy and paste an address.  Perhaps I'm just missing an easy way to do it.

I too have had to re-invent my processes. As a note I've always used the .COM myebay so I didn't know stuff was missing from the .CA

I used to use the address from the paypal payment, folded properly to fit in a window envelope.

Of course the new packing slips have stupid letter combinations for the countries so I can't do that anymore.

What I've been doing so far is to keep a "draft" email open in outlook and just doing the "Copy full address to clipboard" (from the view order details) and then pasting them into the draft, deleting the phone numbers and printing them before I begin processing (being a cheap son of a gun, my printer prints on both sides and voila I can cut the addresses out from both sides without them overlapping so it saves paper).

It is a lot more complicated than in the old days but I'll keep revising as I have inspirations....

Doing the same might let you paste them onto your stuff @pjcdn2005

The packslip from eBay Labels or the one one you can print from Orders in Sellers Hub? In looking at the one in eBay Labels it's totally stripped down. Missing much of the required information that customs needs when you are supposed to include a PS for shipping internationally.

Thanks ricarmic but I have to ask a question that I should probably know the answer to.  I've never used the clipboard and though I know how to get the info to the clipboard, how do I get to the actual clipboard to access the info? I don't see it on my windows menu.  Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Ha @pjcdn2005 you forget how hold I am!!!

I'm a Windows "Ctrl c" to copy to the clipboard (although you only have to click on it in the "copy address to clipboard" part of the screen) and "Ctryl v" to paste it wherever you want it to go....

(so you can cut and paste anything by highlighting it holding both the Ctrl button and C button down to copy it and then holding both the Ctrl button an V button down to paste it - in my case I paste it into the email draft, same could be done to notepad or a word document)

(And if you ever make a mistate "Ctrl and z" undoes the last thing you did)

There are probably other ways, but I'm an old school kinda guy.....

The above is a copy and paste, not a cut and paste. Cut is ctrl button with letter x. Cut does a copy of the text and deletes it. But it can't delete read only text in forms. Cut is useful when rearranging text and moving it around.

@lotzofuniquegoodies  Thepackslipp from eBay Labels or the one one you can print from Orders in Sellers Hub?

The packing slip I'm referring to is the new "re-imagined" version available from the Seller Hub Orders page onDOTcom.

To access the new slip go to theDOTcom Seller Hub, open up the Orders page, from the drop-down menu next to any order select "Print packing slip and more"

The "and more" part refers to the ability to print a couple other items, one of those being a "pick list".

What's to like about the new slip?

a. The seller can choose to include the important elements and exclude the undesirable stuff.

b. Much better format, the seller's ebay username is prominent in very large font immediately below an ebay logo, the buyer immediately knows the item(s) were purchased on ebay and from whom. Print in grayscale to tone down the ebay logo!

c. If you're a store subscriber you can include a store logo, store web address, and have a QR code printed right there on the slip that sends anyone with a camera app directly to your storefront.

d. Again, if you are a store subscriber you can print a coupon code on the slip. I'm not sure whether that has launched yet or not.

In this youtube video Harry Temkin spends some time talking about the new Listing tool, coded Coupons, automated PLs and the updated packing slips etc. His presentation is well worth watching once he gets past the usual corporate fluff part at the beginning. Fast forward to about the 23 minute mark, the rest of the video is a snoozefest.

@pjcdn2005  There's usually no need to access the clipboard, if you're using a mouse just right mouse-click and from the menu select paste.

If you don't want to inadvertently paste in any unwanted html formatting select "paste as plain text".

@richardcm good catch! I accidentally wrote cut and paste in the one spot it should have been copy and paste in all spots....

Didn't remember the cut key because I never use it.....I just cheat and hit backspace which zaps the highlighted stuff.
