missing listings entirely- need to check all my listing with physical items and listings to match

we all have had  where bay relists on your store an item here and there that was sold -- then someone else buys two months latter and you have to cancel  then order take the ding and move on -- it happens to me about 4/5 times a year -- so now i check after every sale one  week later to see it reappears -- and then delist it -- this new problem is iam missing listings completely started noticing that my listings numbers  would  go down even though i had no sale that day -- being doing this for about 6 months and to my fault i let it slip on really checking that part as my health concerns got in the way -- so now i doing a physical check of items against listings - checking about twenty to twenty five listings every day- also checking other details of those listings like shipping details  and price points etc etc  which is a good thing anyways-- well one week of doing this i found 7 items had been dropped completely  for no reason- no listing at all -- yet i still have the physcial item ready to sell at my storage locker --i used to have over 2500 items listed a year ago now i have about 1939 items -- with the ones i have sold taken off - iam out about 100 items out- i now have  take pictures and relist those items as i come across them - so ebay is delisting items i want to listed and well relisting items i don't want to relist --

maybe this is there way of getting you to check things i don't know-- but a lot of extra work for no extra money is being involved - and i really don't like it -- but as many have said  here it is what it is 

wonder if any others are having this same problem and to what extent ????

back to relisting two items i just found not where they should be -- it ain't easy being a ebay reselling thats for sure

As a possible reason why you may see fluctuations with your listings, it could be because of GTC listings relisting. There can be a lag time depending on the listing. Really bad in some categories. This is the main reason when I use end and sell similar I try to keep a running track of what my final number will be. They catch up..........Eventually.

As for the listings selling and then relisting automagically by themselves, I wish there was a valid answer as to why that happens. No one has been able to give one to date from eBay. Extremely frustrating to anyone this has happened to. Like when sellers may have had listings cancelled for maybe being longtail with no confirmation that they had been cancelled. (There is used to be an email stream for each listing.)

well one week of working on my relisting all items and i have found 13 listings that aren't there - about 600 dollars worth of items   i have ony gone through about 100-110 listings so far -- cleaning up as i go -  next week i plan to do another 100 listings if i feel up to it as long as the meds work - and i will readajust my promo and discount levels on certain items while i go along finding all these deleted listings -- hope there is not that many more - cause thats alot of money that wasn't being able to be  sold and just taking space and money in my rented locker --- its saturday the weather is good  iam going for a small walk around the park  then back a couple more listing repairs till afternnoon nap

I don't have an eBay store thereby all my listings are posted manually= what and when, at my choosing, so never have issues of missing listings as I now store all my eBay listings as "Scheduled listings" that I just keep "re-scheduling" until such time that I decide to post them live.

week two of relisting all my items and have found about  another 10 items this week not listed or should i say delisted by ebay over the course of two years -- that brings it to about 23 items that where delisted in total 

i will just pluging along thanksgiving weekend i take a break i only have two delisted items to relist take pictures ,new descriptions,- maybe it will give me a bump that everyone talks about when listing new items -- i sure hope so--so all this added work and lost time and money  won't go to waste--fingers crossed

yes, ive had both happen, not often but it does happen.  Maybe a 2-3 times a year for the sold item relists.   One item sold like 6 months previous, I had to go into the custom search function to find it haha.  when going thru inventory I have come across stuff and wondered "why hasnt this sold" and check it and the listing is gone, disappeared.

Lotz and I have spoken about this kind of stuff a number of times and I wont speak for him here but for me I dont believe it will ever be meaningfully addressed.  I think its seen as just some system anomaly that defies explanation.  

You are right about the shipping rate particulars getting mysteriously altered from time to time, that has happened to me as well, less so since I started creating shipping policies, also no idea why and good luck getting a fix on it, its been going on for years.  It may help you to start creating shipping policies if you arent already doing so.  I have noticed though shipping policies while revising a very small number of items have switched to a different policy somehow where I didnt do it, it had to have occurred as result of some system glitching.

Yes, eBay has been creating random policies and sometimes moving our items to them when they roll over. Extremely annoying, although the random policies do seem to be identical to the original ones (at least mine have). I told the shipping team about it at eBay Open, so hopefully something is done about it.

just a up date this last week found 7  more listings that where missing worth about 350 dollars worth of items -- i have gone through about 250 listings redone  so far and hope this will improve performance --  maybe another 75 listings redone this week as i have lots of doctor appointments with specialists 3 to be exact and a bone catscane at the hosital -- so won't be able to do more than that this week  redoning 7-10 a day seems to be my maxium -- so back to the grind

another week goes bye as friday awakens down to finding more lost or ebay deleted listings this week found about 9 more listings gone - some of high value  missing -- seems a trend is coming about when i redo listings that are over 2 years or close to that -two items in 25 seems to be missing this week new medication seems to be working so iam feeling a  little lighter  and stronger so i will try and do more listings maybe about 25 a day is the goal-  off to another specialist today - this morning - to tell me what i already know --  but wife wants me to go - wed had a bone scan mri  at 11pm at night at the hosiptal, so she wants to hears about results-- contented wife is a happier wife and that makes life a little easier

well couple weeks into redoing my listings to see which listings ebay has deleted on me and i have found about one a day this week  so it getting up there in lost sales i have incurred over the last year or so i  have esitmated --- then on top of that again they have taken my promoted listing feature away -- -- just when i was getting into selling regular again about 4or5 sales a week  --3 weeks in a row --  then they pull the plug on me again-- and with out the suggested promo % working  sales  have tanked again -- and i have to offer extreme discounts in sales starting at 30 % off  this week to right the ship maybe ?-we will see next week i might have to do more  and with canada post  and shipping supplies taking  amost 30 % of my sales -- and ebay 26 % -- 36% and up when i used promo listing last week -- well you see the problem- since i have come to terms with ebay screwing me over time and time again- iam just trying to sell off my inventory not  buying anything any more till i get under --1500 listings from over 2000 listings right now  but that will take a long time at this rate -- just got a notice that my  storage locker  rate is going up next month from $239 to $259 monthly  so maybe the end is coming faster than i thought  -- my meds seem to be working at least and i feel better than i have in weeks .months so that end  is at least is pushed further out --  a new prodical they are using seems to be working --so all is not lost these  last couple of weeks -- well back to relisting lost listings found two this morning out  of 20 i redid-  time for walk down the hallway to the lounge see whos up and whos not -- ha ha ha

maybe found a reason for this mess --- just caught ebay relisting a item that was in my delisted pile and i usually delete and erase -- missed one night and there it was next day in my regular listings -- so had to do it over again-- found about 6/7 more items this week that where delisted by ebay for no apparent reason had to take new picture and start listings over again--  well up side very small mind you is iam correctly and fixing up these listings and makeing improvement s all is not a lost cause ---- sales this week have been fair - so on whole this depressing mess except for lossing promo listings again for  month  has been ok -- i will just keep pluging till the end
