I recently listed an item for sale with shipping in Canada and USA only. A member from India placed a bid and told me that I should ship it to India for $10 because it is a "genuine cost."
I was immediately suspicious that this was a fraud buy.
I contacted him and told him that I would only ship to Canada and USA. He demanded that I ship the item to him... So to make an effort I checked shipping cost with Canada Post to India and it was around $100 and so that's what I put on the invoice! Thats just how much it would have cost me!!
Just before sending the invoice I had attempted to close the transaction which the buyer rejected.
Afterwards he said I was being unreasonable and that he had items shipped to him from N.A. for $10 before. The difference is that I have to pay consumer prices, not coporate / business prices. This was unacceptable to him.
So now I have negative feedback because he can't read an auction properly! What's worse is that I can only leave positive feedback! I've been pushed into a position where my reputation is diminished because he would not accept that I only ship to Canada / USA.
What the heck can I do about this?! Ebay seems to not be able to do anything... or they just don't care.

Hi bdressler.. An unfortunate comedy of errors.
Should have Buyer Requirements set to block countries not shipped to...

Never file a cancellation without a buyer's prior agreement to accept. Can't turn around and file an unpaid so fees are lost.
Can file an unwelcome buyer..
