Bad Seller - how to proceed

Since I started selling I haven't done much shopping but since it's my birthday this week I had a bit of fun.

I purchased from a U.S. Powerseller who had a few negatives but when I read them it wasn't anything big and so I requested a total since shipping was $200 but in her listibgs it clearly said add $2 for Canada buyers (so the total would have been something around $11).

I requested an invoice every day for the last week and have gotten no response. On top of that, I checked her page and she has left feedback for other buyers nearly every day since I started requesting my invoice.

What do I do? I checked with live help and they said 1- contact her so I got her telephone number and left her a message yesterday and nothing then they said if no response to contact Trust and Safety.

I just really want the items I purchased, any other suggestions?
Thanks
Justine

I can't change the amount on the shipping -> It says $200 (as each paper I purchased said $7, but its that much for 1-20 papers)

They do ship to Canada as that info is in all of their listings. The seller is not away either.

Thanks

I would say try to call her on the phone and if no success neg her for no communication.

A good example why non-paying bidders are able to leave a neg.

Why would you want to leave negatives ??

Why would you want to leave negatives ??

Purchase on eBay constitutes a contract. Seller refusing communicating is a non-performance and it deserves a neg.

How would you like it if you ordered a book from Amazon and they would ignore you after that? No total, no invoice, no response.

If a seller has a pattern of non-performance (demonstrated by negatives), Ebay will rid of the seller.

Sellers like this are hurting other sellers by driving buyers away. Imagine having a store in a mall, where several stores create huge stink. Regardless that other stores are nice and shiny, many buyers will not come because of the stink. Neg the stinker!!!

So I guess all the negative feedbacks you received are well deserved ?

Hiya Justine,
Maybe your emails are going through their spam filter. Also when I am away my daughter and yes even sometimes my husband can take care of things in here for me. Like feed back. Also if they use Selling Manager Pro it can be auto doing the feed back once the buyer leaves positive feed back.

If it were me I would try leaving another message and if they respond great...if not. I would review their feedback to see if others are having the same problem. If they have a store check and see if there is a message there about them being on holidays. Just use your best judgement.

For me personally if they didn't respond to the 2nd call I would forget about it. If they file UPD then you have your emails to back you.

I wouldn't give negative as there might be some valid reason. I do everything but stand on my head before giving neg feed back. Not that I haven't, but I think some are too hasty to leave it. You have 2 months to leave the f/b. I'd wait!

Have a Wonderful Night 🙂

So I guess all the negative feedbacks you received are well deserved ?

One is deserved (we shipped wrong item), second one is customer who extorted an item, got negged and retaliated.

Plus, the OP described the situation of seller not respondig to a request for combined invoice during entire week!? If you do not think that deserves a neg I cannot imagine what does.

Maybe this seller does not deliver to Canada. Didn't read properly the auction page. I would be curious to see this auction.

Thanks for all the replies. I didn't post the person's name as last time I got "in trouble" for posting a name.

1 - She definetly ships to Canada, it's all over her listings and no extra FAQ/Policy pages to say otherwise.

2 - I won't leave negative but am highly disappointed...
She got a negative just yesterday for the EXACT same thing - it said "could not complete transaction, seller would not respond or send an invoice, charged 6x shipping"
--> This was a U.S. buyer so she's not ignoring just Canadians
--> person waited since July 5th for a response!

3 - Not auto feedback as I checked and the feedback she left was for someone who left her feedback weeks earlier.
--> This is why I don't believe/know she is not on vacation

I sent the info to Ebay investigation but it says they won't be investigating it (so I guess she will just keep doing it).

I don't understand it at all! I love getting sales and getting payments lol... Crazy...

Thanks again for everyone's help... this has never happened to me before!

I certainly do not wish to "defend" your seller but let's not rush into conclusions.

The seller has been selling on eBay for nearly seven years. Currently your seller DSRs are 5.0, 4.8, 4.7 and 4.6.

Not perfect but certainly do not indicate a major problem other than the one neg recently received (with 219 positive in the same month).

There may be many valid explainations for the slowness in responding to your inquiries.

Listings read: "Please request a combined invoice after you're done shopping so that I can calculate your shipping for you."

It may be possible the seller needs to package all items and bring them to the Post Office to get a rate.

I would wait a few more days and report the seller for non-performance on one of the items:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

Good Luck. .

Pierre might have the solution. There must be answer because seller with good DRS would not risk there reputation. This is my opinion.

If that is what the seller needs to do to give the shipping, the seller should at least respond to the emails and the calls.

I forgot to wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY Justine, I hope you have a great day.

Thanks Colleen! I'm looking forward to a vacation and getting pack to a few nice packages from my birthday shopping. 12x12 Paper is so expensive in Toronto from the local stores!

Pierre/Frederic - I find this puzzling too... As I said, the last feedback was exactly what happened to me and as of today, no communication still so I guess I'm not counting on her getting back to me!

Maybe one day those DSRs will drop from one too many times of her doing it or maybe something has really happened... Hope she is ok

Hiya Justine
I would have thought in Toronto there would be lots of stores offering cheaper scrapbooking supplies. But I guess with their overhead they can't. I always wait for Michael's Paper Sales. Also I have gotten amazing deals at Costco. I even got K & Company Paper there, 300 sheets for $19.99. Can't beat that. As a matter of fact I get lots of great scrapbooking deals at Costco. They also had these blocks of paper 500 sheets for $14.99. I think there was maybe 10 different themes in a pack. It was nice paper too, not cheap thin paper.

Have a Wonderful Vacation! Are you going anywhere special?

Hi centralmetalcorp - did that, left 2 msgs and nothing

Colleen - I'm going to New Brunswick to visit some relatives so I'm looking forward to a laid back vibe in comparison to Toronto.

Thanks for the paper hunting tips, I was dreading my diaper trip to Costco next week and now I can't wait!
