I personally prefer Auction Style Use BIN occassionally but don't get alot of response from it
It depends on what you sell some only use BIN or Fixed Price
some are more successful with auctions

It depends on what you sell
Exactly.
Different methods work for different products. You have to try them to see what works for you.

Each seller has 50 free listings... no listing fees.... just a FVF when the item sells.
Experiment.....Research.... and work at it.....
Certain categories work well with auction listings... while others require a longer tem of visibility before it sell
auction listing... start price at a price you would be willing to sell the item... not 99 cents.... ..
What day to start/end an auction
Fixed price....... I list fixed price, with listings spread over a 30 day period.... 50 listings at fixed price/30-day listings is approximately two listings per day......

I prefer fixed price. Auctions do not seem to work for me. Last time they had a free promo for auctions, I didn't sell one item! Plus... the 50 free listings each month are better used over 30 days FP instead of just 7 days auction IMHO.

As a bookseller I prefer Fixed Price listings, because many of my titles are not in great demand, but will eventually find a buyer.
As a buyer, I like FP for items that I know are in good supply. I just do some comparison shopping and order.
But for scarce items (like the Serenity /Fruity Oaty Bars lunchbox I just found) I love auctions, since with the short listing period, I can scoop scarce items up while nobody else is looking.
That lunchbox was a limited edition of 250. I bid $50 and was the only bidder. Got it for $6.95 plus shipping. Happy happy joy joy.
