What do you guys do to 'make sure' buyers leave feedback? My last few sales haven't received feedback. I am guessing things were ok, surely a buyer wouldn't hesitate to report problems. I am not a regular/very active ebay seller but I am still losing on positive feedback that will benefit me down the line...

" 'make sure' buyers leave feedback? "
No such thing.
Feedback is voluntary.
Most sellers leave feedback for buyers, fewer buyers leave feedback for sellers.
The percentage of feedback left by sellers and buyers varies by categories.
Some sellers leave feedback upon receipt of payment, others when shipping, others wait until they get feedback from the buyers to reciprocate while a few do not bother.
Do not obsess about it. Life is too short for that and feedback on eBay is not as relevant as it once was.

Thanks both. Not really worried about it but more feedback does have another kind of benefit for non-active users because after 1 year without any feedback the percentage shows "0%" or at least it used to the last time I didn't use ebay for a while. It looked odd to see Positive feedback followed by 0%.

I doubt that. eBay is marginalizing FB more and more. ALL seller ratings are based on number of sales, not FB. FB will soon become nothing more than a running count of transactions and have zero value for anything else.

Maybe try this: send each buyer a follow up message asking if item was received, if it was as expected, was a perfect fit for them etc. Wish them Happy Holidays as well.

I send such message after I get the payment.
Only about 30% of buyers leave feedback today. Last year they were about 65%.

Gazer-sky-- So you think it is a good idea to tell your customers that you don't know if they have received their item? Most people are honest, but some would be tempted to say no and demand a refund.
If the buyer has not received the item, he will let you know.
I like to leave feedback on shipment, as an encouragement to my customers to do the same.

Why should buyers leave feedback when sellers can easily delete it if they don't like what they hear? I recently left a neutral feedback and it was deleted. I am not bothering to leave feedback anymore.

"sellers can easily delete it if they don't like what they hear?"
???
I do not think so. eBay has very specific rules when feedback comments will be removed. Certainly not as easy as you make it sound.

There have been many discussions ....almost weekly ... on eBay.com ... about..
--- Buyers not leaving feedback.
---Sellers not leaving feedback
Feedback is voluntary.... and should not be forced
No feedback is positive feedback...
Never wake up the devil who just may leave a negative feedback ... for a seller
Because you, the seller.... asked for it.... This has happened
