There have been a number of inquiries from members on how to get Canada Post’s FREE eBay Packs. As I have just gone through the process of ordering and receiving them, I wanted to provide you with the steps you need to take to be able to order them.
eBay Packs can only be ordered through Canada Post's Online Business Centre (OBC) Products & Supplies Store. To access the OBC Store, you will 1st need to get a Canada Post Commercial or VentureOne customer number. I suggest the latter, as signing up for the VentureOne program is FREE and easy.
To obtain a Canada Post customer number, go to http://www.canadapost.ca/business/obc/apply/cust_number-e.asp.
Once you have a Canada Post customer number, go to the web site address: www.canadapost.ca/obc, as you will need to complete the OBC User ID and Password Request Form (see middle right-hand side of page). If you are already an OBC registered user, you can simply log-in to the OBC.
Once you have accessed the OBC:
1. Click “Store – Order Products and Supplies”
2. Click Product Catalogue
3. Click Packaging Products, sub-category Envelopes
4. Select "eBay Pak"* (item number 533086682)
5. Click Add Selection to Cart
6. Click Order Now
* Note the eBay Paks are listed at a unit price of $0.20, but they are marked down to $0.00 at checkout. Customers can order a minimum quantity of 25 and maximum quantity of 50 at no charge.
Once ordered, your Packs should arrive shortly. I received my Packs in 2 days.
Remember, these eBay Packs are FREE and are good for shipping soft good products (like clothing), so dign up for VentureOne and start ordering.
Regards,
Lilybean

The eBay Packs are one form of packaging for you to ship your items in. I'm not sure what they are made of but they would be ideal to ship soft items like clothes, as they are not bubble lined.

Don't forget to select the pouches to put your shipping labels in they are also free! I ordered 150 of these not sure what the maximum is. I'm sure if we order 50 a day we are allowed? Would flags come up if we order so much?

I have also only ordered 50 at a time so thanks for the information.
Do you know if these will always be available or is this only while quantities last?

I got my packs today...finally a perk from CP!!
My question is this...do you think with the big fat ebay logo on the envelope that customers in the US will more likely get hit with customs duties?....I've heard that there is a $200 daily exemption from Canada in the US, is this true? and if so is it a set in stone exemption?...I know for sure I won't use them for overseas as I know they will attract attention from customs and increase the duties my customers will pay...but I will use them for the states if I know my customers are not hit with duties (my shipments are well under $200 in value per). If anyone has some input on this I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
Marcello

It's true. It won't get hit with custom's duties provided it is under US$200 in value.
It may get delayed for up to two weeks by customs however, I think that happens often when you use Canada Post whether it's an ebay package or not.

I think that some buyers may not want it broadcast that they are buying on eBay.

BTW, just to clear the customs issue this is how it was last year so unless it's changed it should still be the same.
When you send from Canada to the US, they don't have to pay customs fees on anything with a value of $200 US or less.
However, if you're a Canadian buying something from the States, any value to the equivlent of over $20 CDN you gotta pay 6% tax, plus a handling fee to Canada Post (usually $5). If the sender marks the item as a gift, the value bumps up to $60 before you gotta worry about customs fees.
The important thing to note is it's the CDN equivlent so if someone marks the package as 59.00 US and as a gift, you're paying fees on it because it's worth over $60 CDN.
So be really careful if you're buying like a Lacoste shirt or something like that - if the person marks it worth $120 it can set you back a few extra bucks even if you didn't pay that much for the item.
