Compare your CP discount to others here!

I am on the level 2 discount and I ship between 3,500 and 4,000 parcels per year. I have heard that other powersellers have negotiated better rates and I would like to compare with other sellers to see If I truly am getting the "best" available rate for the amount of shipments I'm sending. Does your rate correspond to what I was told today by my rep?

Level 2 discount 2,500 parcels per year

Level 3 discount 7,500 parcels per year

level 4 discount 15,000 parcels per year

I just found out something after talking to my warehouse manager. We receive level 4 on shipments within Canada but level 2 on shipments to the U.S.

I was not aware of this until now. My ebay CP acount is a sister account to my regular business and is set up as a different company with separate billing. We share the same agreement# with Canada Post.

Signed a contract with CP January 2003 giving us Level 3 anticipating shipments of 2500 to 4999 per year. Due to sudden, unexpected and non-negotiated cubic charging of my instruments I lost 90% of my guitar business as the shipping rates sometimes exceeded the selling price of the guitars that I was selling ($196 billed by CP for shipping a single guitar in one instance alone).

On September 9th I received a form I was told was to accomodate my shipments into the US and Internationally via Expedited Service. It shows me at a Level 2 for Express Post Canada, Level 2 for Express Post USA, Level 2 for Expedited Commercial USA and Level 1 for Expedited Parcel USA.

I have never been informed that I was changed from a Level 3 to a Level 2 and while my shipments are far from the target, 99% of the reason is because of Canada Post changing their billing methods for my account and calculating my shipments based on the cubic weight.

I assure you that before I signed with CP in January, I discussed with them exactly what I would be shipping in great detail and provided them with descriptions including sizes and weights (VERBALLY AND IN WRITING).

I was also told by CP to purchase a digital scale which I did and a little more than a month after spending $300 on a fairly high-end electronic digital scale, I found that I have no need for it as CP began cubing everything and the actual weight meant nothing to them.

The problem remains that knowing one's level doesnt mean you know what the discount is, if any. I suspect that one person's Level 2 may be an identical discount as someone else's Level 3.
