Hey Jordan. I am just wondering if EBay is planning on cracking down on the ebook or 1 penny feedback auctions that are all around ebay.

Sure they give paypal (and thus ebay) like 40 cents or something in free fee's from these cheaters, but it annoys all of your honest feedback building customers. Especially auctions that sell feedback, or even those auctions that sell "wholesaler lists"....like i almost bidded on a Playstation 2 wholesaler list, thinking it was a genuine ps2 console. I think its ridiculous that ebay has not done anything atleast in terms of the feedback auctions.

The auctions obviously do not say feedback exchange but it is the hidden generally accepted message that that is what the auction is for. Of course there are tons of legit auctions of this type selling ebooks, ive bougth recipes and stuff for my mom and they were great, but 9/10 are feedback exchanges. Please tell me your on it.

Can you explain why you cannot buy or sell pets on an ebay auction but you can go to ebay's home page and buy and sell pets through intoko.

Seems like a double standard to me.

There was a suggestion on these boards about feedback that I thought would be an excellent idea. The suggestion was that feedback not be posted until both parties have left it. This would eliminate retaliatory(sp?) negative feedback and would encourage honesty when leaving feedback. Is that something that is being looked at at all?

This wouldnt be effective at all. If someone gives you a negative for selling a defective item, you wont give them a positive for paying on time, and no one will get feedback using ur suggestion, so you win and the other person doesnt. ....and vice versa etc.

A question about ProStores asked nearly four weeks ago on the "Selling on eBay" Discussion Board has not been addressed.

Your comments would be appreciated:

"The information about ProStores suggests that Canadian sellers are welcome. Do you know of Canadian sellers who have joined the program and are satisfied with the results?

Has ProStores managed to offer a checkout system compatible to Canadian consumption taxes (GST/HST and PST), something that eBay.ca has not yet been able to do?

Is there any information you or your staff can provide specifically for Canadian sellers to help us make up our mind on that new program?"

Thank-you for your suggestion regarding Feedback. We are constantly taking suggestions from our Community on our Feedback system and opening them up for discussion internally. The results of some of these discussions is that we test some of the suggestions like we are doing now with Feedback sorting. Ultimately it is the results of those tests and the Community's reaction to those tests that govern our actions.

2. When can we un/officially start a Share Your Wares thread that will be sanctioned by the Pinks?

3. Will there ever be a Pink's Day here on .ca? The .com ones are so much fun! (I LOVE my new licence wbay motors plate holder..but have lost my keychain ...and car keys)

4. The .com side got 17 new forums - 8 which are more community oriented? Any chances here? One that is helpful such as HTML/Photos/Canadian Specific...and another that is more Community/Home and Garden oriented?

Just as a P.S. to my previous post - Jordan you have so many commited community members here - some are more open and 'on board' and others quieter and low key - behind the scenes so to speak. It is a shame to lose their commitment to the community and their knowledge and skills.

Please - you could make more use of their willingness to give of their time.

In answer to your ProStores questions:

-Your best bet to find out the experiences of Canadian ProStores users would be to start a thread on the Selling board asking people for their input.

-There is not a checkout system available yet for Canadians, but our product team is investigating the possibility.

-Here is a link that has all of the FAQ's about ProStores although as you will see it is somewhat light on canadian specific content.
