I purchased an item this morning, and now ebay has removed it from the site. What now? It's already come off my credit card. Have I been scammed by the seller?

If you bought it, then it is removed from viewing.

eBay is not full of scam artists, although some leave a little more to be desired than others

Hi .. Check the seller's ID to see if still active or has been suspended by eBay as well. ( no longer a registered user).

No contact from seller .. go to resolution center in PayPal account and open an item not received dispute. Note that seller has been removed if that is the case. No refund, escalate to a claim as soon as PP will allow and your card will be credited. Takes several days to appear on card once refunded.

Listings can be removed by eBay for any number of eBay policy violations. I agree that the item not received dispute should be opened. It can always be closed if the item arrives while the dispute is still open and you can always return the refund to the seller if the item arrives after you get the refund.

On a final note, if the seller shows as not a registered user, you won't be able to leave feedback and DSR ratings.

When you say "removed from my credit card" do you mean you paid him directly and not through Paypal?

If so, you should be phoning your credit card customer service. The number is on the back of your card. Ask about a chargeback. Have the dates, amounts, and transaction numbers handy for the cc clerk.

But if you used Paypal, which is the usual way, then you are covered by PP and eBay Buyer Protection as well as your cc's Chargeback policy. All will be well.
