Ebay promotions for people who offered free shipping

that's what they say in their email, by inserting code FS2004, they'll promote your items heavily.
i inserted the code and it appears on the description as FS2004, it's meaningless for buyers.
do i need to add any html to it??

I don't believe you "need" to add any HTML to it, but if you'd like to hide it you could always use the following:

FS2004

To make the font white and invisible to buyers. eBay just reads the raw text so it wouldn't hurt the purpose of the text.

Sorry, I need to format it so you can read it -- My last post actually used the HTML I meant to show as an example:

Try this:

fs2004

Change the square brackets to < and > respectively.

Are you sure that won't violate eBay's listing policies? They don't allow "hidden" text... 🙂

eBay doesn't want 'keyword spamming' and there are some sellers who use this method to insert many keywords in their listings. They are usually prety easy to find. If there is a fairly large blank space in a listing you can click and drag your mouse across it to see if there are any hidden keywords there.

I used this method for over a year on over 400 listings to insert hidden codes so I could create customized searches for a couple of websites I had set up. The hidden codes were things like "rtryrr" and "hllywdts", in other words codes that would be meaningful to me but would never be used in anybody's search. I was never contacted about it. If you don't use the method to perform keyword spamming I seriously doubt anybody or eBay would take issue with it.

Ernie.
