I sell high end ammolite jewelry on Ebay and on a stand alone site of my own.
Its all I do and its pretty successful.
Recently a seller of mass low end jewelry has been putting ammolite fakes in the section reserved for high quality ammolite jewelry. These fakes are easy to see even by those inexperienced in ammolite--surrounded by small white topaz stones.Simply search Ammolite Jewelry and you will spot the fakes right away--especially when you go to the Fine jewelry section on the left list.
I have sent in seller complaints on this for months--ignored--no action.
A few days ago I decided to phone and see if I could speak with someone in authority. After a couple of hours on the phone shunted here and there I wound up talking to a person who purported to be in the department that controlled listings. She took my complaint and said there would be an investigation right away.
That was days ago--I wonder if she meant action would be taken some time in the interminable future.
The fakes continue to be listed. The public continues to be defrauded and as far as I can see--no one at Ebay gives a **bleep**.
I can only conclude they favour fraudulent listers because they process 300,000+ items plus per year over honest sellers who sell only a few hundred albeit at far higher prices for quality goods--and that fake listings are of no concern to them.
I would sure like to hear from someone in authority [I know they read these comments] that what I have said has been heard and is being acted on.Its all listed on my file.Complete with listing numbers of the fakes.
