I was browsing Feedback Policies and discovered this as a possibility. It seems ebay accepts Fair Trade as a third party negotiator. If no reply is received from the person who left neg. feedback, ebay removes the feedback. Has anyone tried using Fair Trade?....any success?

Yes I meant Square Trade. They claim that it cost $30 only if negotiations are successful and feedback is mutually withdrawn....OR.... if there is no response, ebay will remove the feedback.

Case filing and responding are free for all participants. In addition, you can use SquareTrade's Direct Negotiation tool free of charge. You will be charged only if mediation or review service is provided at your request.

Without mediation or review you get nothing (for nothing of course). The other party only has to respond, if they agree to mediation you lose your money and they turn down your request for mutual removal.

You can do exactly the same thing for free through eBay if the other party does not agree I doubt ST would be any more effective.

In the one case I had with an ST dispute filed on me by a wacko NPB I made sure they paid their fee and also some other extra charge because she ended up with both mediation AND review. If she had only just said right at the beginning "sorry thought I was bidding on a cd not a record" I would have done a mutual and left reasonable feedback, instead she chose to go the full on offensive assault route.

Read the fee disclaimer, they provide but they don't have to succeed.

Ben's right, once ebay implemented the mutual FB removal process, ST became obsolete.

I have had a 3 negative feedbacks and 2 I had removed by the mutual feedback removal route.

The other buyer would not respond to my emails, so I went the Square Trade route and they never responded to their emails either so they removed the negative.

If they don't agree to a mutual feednack withdraw chances are you will be waisting your money. In my case I figured it was a resonable chance that it would work, and it did.

I contacted ST because of a neutral Feedback that was unwarranted. I didn't realize that even if it is withdrawn, because of no response from that person, it will still show up as feedback received but withdrawn. In that case, it will look like a Negative Feedback and be there forever. I should have just let it run its course. It probably won't be the last one I ever receive.
