Seems Ebay has implemented a "Paypal Only" rule for accepting payments in Australia. Which in turn, has sparked protest and lawsuits. Apparently, if they can get away with it there, they will do it in other countries too.
Won't be long before Ebay sellers must take Paypal, and pay double fees for every transaction, and then let Paypal use your money for 21 days interest free after that, before you can touch what is left, if anything for you:
Have a look. Especially those of you who ignored the February boycott.

Yeah, that's very unfortunate. About 10% of my sales are paid via non PP method. I suppose they will, for the most part, go by the wayside.
However, I would think that buyers could still email a seller and indicate that they would like to pay by cheque. Not much eBay can do about that.
eBay also has a policy about not accepting cash and I never solicit such but, guess what? Every now and then an envelope arrives with those crisp little US bills LOL. Do you think that I will send the money back?
On a more humorous note, would that leave the door open to filing "mutuals" for all non PP paid transactions and getting FVF's back]:)

Does that mean that I will no longer be able to accept Mastercad and VISA payments?
If not, it should not affect most of sellers. If it does in a significant way, then solution is simple - bye bye eBay.

"Won't be long before Ebay sellers must take Paypal"
Do not worry so much.
American anti-trust laws will prevent such requirement on eBay.com (and by extension on eBay.ca).
I suspect - over time - eBay may incorporate a system similar to the new eBay.uk system where sellers must offer PayPal as one of the methods of payment they will accept. Sellers are still free to accept bank transfers, cheques (checks), money orders, bank drafts, etc... .
