Im currently in the process of closing the 'store' and selling all my items off on auction. That means ebay get less than 4% of the fvf instead of 10% they would have gotten from the store. They're also losing out of the fact that I'll no longer be trading. Im losing money on the sales so far, but no stress, actually feel quite satifised I now know I no longer have to put up with this s#$%. I would imagine with the sales over the next week I will get to retain my powerseller status for the next three months, so Ill be able to check in and see how your all doing. Thanks for all the advice some of you have offered in the past, its been really useful. See ya and good luck to you all, Paul.

Do you really think eBaY will even notice that you left and as for lost revenue from you, another useless point.

Sorry to say that but it is true.

Since your last post another 10 new sellers have joined and another 1,000,000 items have been posted.

Just the facts - not trying to be rude or anything like that.

You leaving will only affect one person -- YOU!

GOOD LUCK

IC - well then let them have it -- get if of your chest and clear your head -- start your new venture with a clear mind -- you have nothing to lose by doing so.

dont need to let them have anything...i understand why they're doing what they're doing and id do the same thing if i was in ebay's shoes. there's nothing we can do about them uping the FVF, Feedback standards etc...ebay needs to make sure they make money but they've become greedy...they also need to make sure that as many sellers as possible lose PS status to avoid the 15% discount (hence the introduction of DSR, you don't think this wasn't all planned and part of a business plan when DSR was introduced???)...problem for sellers is there's no competition!!! tea has started using other websites, but ive never even heard of them and they'll never get the traffic ebay does...so we're stuck, don't like being stuck..so i'll move on...it's great, no checking ebay five times a day to see if ive sold something so i can ship if off immediatly and receive poor DSR because Canada Post are still using donkeys to transport mail and more importantly NO STRESS...

You know if you do not let eBay know your feelings nothing gets done. I have lost money for the last three months because eBay has given a monopoly for grading Canadian Coins to 4 US grading companies who don't even deal in Canadian Coins. I am not a quitter and I intend to right this wrong. EBay is good value for your dollar but acts like giving a monopoly for grading Canadian Coins to 4 US grading companies and not letting a Canadian Collector to grade their own coins is criminal. Don

Hey Paul.... Can you talk to some of your comic buddies about leaving ebay as well? That way I can raise my prices and pocket more dough!!! LOL
I am curious to the frustration you are feeling. As you said to me last week... This is still the cheapest venue for what we sell.
It sounds like you were ready to pack it in before we all heard of the new ebay pricing/feedback structure. Maybe this was the straw that broke the camels back.
It also sounds like the fun has been sucked out of your hobby.
I hope you would reconsider your plan to leave. There are not a lot of us comic geeks around here, so you would be missed.
I'll be stuck here discussing "nude" paintings with Kat... Oops, I think she may be leaving. Tea cups with Phil... Oops again. Html Monique?
Vitali... you on vacation in Cuba???? And did you pay via Paypal???

Think future hit the nail on the head. They won't notice. Problem is, ebay see the buyers as its customers...we, the sellers, are the customers, NOT the buyers....we pay all the fees listing/ FVF and paypal. the buyer pays nothing to ebay...we do!!!! Therefore I don't think i ever dealt with a company with as poor customer service as ebay.............telling them that will fall on deaf ears

Hey Paul (comics-rock).

I totally empathize. The amount of time invested with eBay compared to the dollars profit does not work out as well as it did. I was willing to put in the time before with a view to the future (the time put it will pay off more as I leverage my existing infrastructure), but eBay's continually-increasing fees and reduction of seller support has actually had me LOSING ground on profit over the last three years, even though I managed to triple my volume! I've looked at the numbers -- I increased sales by 300% but was making about 77% profit as compared to three years ago.

The stress was not worth it, so I am liquidating. Things in my life have gotten in the way of me doing it ... but I'm just starting to get rolling, and I'll be out as well.

I wish you good luck... and I empathathize with you. I personally prefer stress from other entrepreneurial tasks that will actually allow me to make MORE money. Ha ha. 🙂

I'd much rather let three other newbie sellers move in and take my spot to work 80 hours per week for minimal profit... hopefully some day they will realize their being taken advantage of to make a 'quick buck'. 🙂

See ya!

John
