How do I report a suspicion of dishonesty about a seller?

I tried to advise Ebay of a recent experience in which I believe the seller to have been dishonest.  My money was fully reimbursed but I still want to report the seller.  Ebay's "Help and Contact" section is terrible to use and unless your question or issue fits in their specific categories, you can't reach them.  I was going to start selling on Ebay but am seriously reconsidering because of this experience.

Any feedback or recommendations would be appreciated.

.If the listing misdescribed the item (not a minor thing like calling a red sweater scarlet when it is actually cherry but counterfeit ) then you can Report the listing, or any similar listing or relisting by the seller.

All you will get from this is a polite note thanking you for your Report.

BUT

That is a cya by eBay's lawyers. They want up to police the site, but won't encourage vigilantes.

Nonetheless, these Reports are considered and from time to time we see sellers suddenly go NARU (Not a Registered User). That means they have been kicked off the site.

If the seller did not ship* after you paid, you got your money back, but just as important the seller now has a Defect on his account. Again these can build up and lead to a NARU seller.

I doubt this will arise in future, most problems are with the first few transactions with newbies, whether they are buyers or sellers, but if you ask here for advice, the best method of solving a problem will be discussed by experienced nosyparkers  members.

*More likely than the postal system losing the item. Delays are fairly common, but actual loss is rare. I speak from about 30 years in mail order.
