How does a seller notify buyers of an absence?

How you you let buyers know that you will be absent for a period of time? For examlme, going away on vacation.

Hi...

You need a ebay store to use that feature but if you learn some HTML you can add it to your listings but it needs to be added in the HTML tab in the description section.

Here is a simple sample and you can change where it says "Will be going on Vacation XX through XX.

Presuming you are not a Store owner : stop listing auctions eleven days before you leave. This gives your existing auctions seven days to close and four days to be paid and shipped.

Close all your Fixed Price listings four days before leaving, allowing last minute purchases four days to be paid and shipped.

All your closed listings will be in your Unsold for 90 days.

When you get back you can relist them all in one fell swoop or over a few days by using the Relist button on the Unsold page.
