I bought my first item on ebay through PayPal, I haven't received it yet. So how do I find out how to track my purchase?

You bought it from Hong Kong and got it 'Free Shipping', - meaning cheap shipping since nothing really rides for free.  Tracking is expensive, and as you didn't pay for tracking, you're not getting it.  Not to worry, loads of stuff comes here from Hong Kong every day, although it may take 4 weeks to arrive. 

And you have 45 days - just over 6 weeks - from when you paid to file a 'Not Received' claim to recover your money if it does not arrive.  You're new with almost no feedback, so it might not be a bad idea to have a look at how the process works to file a claim when an item doesn't show up, or when it is 'not as described' (doesn't work, damaged, missing parts, etc):

It is always acceptable to use Contact Seller to ask when an item was shipped, the shipping service used, the expected arrival time (this is out of the seller's control, of course), and if there is a Delivery Confirmation number.

Allow 20 days to pass if the item is shipped within North America and 30 from overseas.

But mark DAY 43 on your calendar in case the item has not arrived by then. If you get a refund for non-delivery, and the item then arrives, you can repay the refund through Paypal's Send Money option.

If the item dosn't arrive,do not under any circumstances let the seller delay you past day 45 on the promise of a replacement item, a refund or for any other reason. If your seller asks you to be patient and keep waiting,especially if the dispute deadline is fast approaching,he is likely trying to string you along until the dispute deadline has passed. If the item hasn't arrived, open the item not received dispute no later than day 43 no matter what the seller is telling you.

How long has passed since you purchased the item? I find from China it usually takes about 3-4 weeks to arrive, sometimes sooner, but rarely, sometimes later. Like others said, If the item doesn't arrive within 43 days from the purchase date, do file an item not received claim. I find there's never a tracking number with these long distance purchases, because shipping is sometimes free or very cheap.
