I can't pay fees in foreign currency?

hi,

when I got email from ebay that i should pay my fees I tried to make one time payment via paypal as instructed in email. ebay didn't accept my payment giving the explanation that I can pay only in $ but my bank account is in other currency. I normally pay everything on ebay using that account so I don't understand where is the problem now? My ebay account got restricted and I really don't know what to do so if you have some experiences with situation like this please please help me. 🙂

When you are buying an item in a different currency, paypal will convert it for you automatically but when you are paying selling fees you have to pay in the same currency that you are billed in.  I think the exception is if you are paying with a credit card. You can convert some of the money in your paypal account to dollars and then pay your bill.  It sounds like in your situation it isn't possible to pay from your bank account.

Which other currency?

EBay Canada accepts both US and Canadian dollars.

There are eBay Germany and France sites which operate in euros.

The Australian site is in Australian dollars and the UK site in pounds.

EBay bills us from Switzerland.

If your account is in any of those currencies, you could try going to the eBay site there, signing in with your usual ID and password, and trying to pay.

You won't be worse off.

You have to pay your fees in your billing currency, not the currency of the site you are on. For example, I'm billed in U.S. $ but if I  am signed into .ca and pay my bill,it is still in U.S. $ the amount isn't automatically converted to Canadian currency.

PayPal balance can be converted right on PayPal via currency converter.

Credit cards will convert automatically as well.

If you only have bank account, you may be able to buy preloaded card that allows conversion. Secondly, if you are trying to settle account before closing ebay, they may allow you to pay by personal cheque or money order, but you need to arrange with them.
