I'm relatively new to eBay and was just wondering, how does a refund work?

I purchased an item from a seller and it hasn't arrived after the alloted time period, and the seller and I both agreed to do a refund, but I've never done one, is there something I need to do to get one? Or do they just send me the money back into the paypal account?

The refund should go right back into your PayPal account and should be almost instant. If you funded your PayPal payment with a credit card, your refund will go back to your credit card and can take a few days to appear. You only have a maximum of 45 days from the time you paid to open an item not received dispute. If the item hasn't arrived by day 43 open the dispute, no matter what the seller is saying to you. If the seller tries to talk you into delaying the dispute, open it immediately. Once opened, close the dispute only upon receipt of the item. Once the dispute is opened, you have 20 days to escalate to a claim. Don't let this time expire. Here's how to open the dispute.
