I just had a member bid on one of my auctions (370613268629). He has been a member since Feb '09 and has no transactions to his credit. It is an item that should sell for $4-$600 and this bidder has entered 2 bids at the $200 start. The item has several watchers. Would you be worried? Of course being a member for so long, he has no infractions to be caught by the bidder preferences. Just curious to others thoughts.

Lately, I've had quite a few buyers with that sort of history (or lack of) and haven't had a problem. But, none of them were buying expensive items. The bidder is in U.S. or Canada ...is that right? If they are, it will easier to send the item with delivery confirmation and signature (if over $250) so that you will be covered by paypal.
It looks like yours is the only item he is bidding on right now. If it looked like they were on a buying frenzy, I would definitely cancel the bid and block.

Yes he is located in the USA. That's one thing the filters did catch. I only ship to Canada & USA. I only paid $10 for the item (A high end Hi8 VCR) so I am not really concerned. I was just curious as to how others would feel. I find it strange to have been a member for 3 years and not even buy or sell one item. I know that when I opened my first eBay ID, I couldn't buy that first item fast enough.

Have you checked his old feedback with toolhaus.org? Or did he just never use it at all?
There is a chance of a hijacked account, of course. Or even a legit account that has an expired cc, which is more likely.
And of course, he may be the underbidder!

It appears he has never used the account Femme. I forgot all about toolhaus though. Thanks for reminding me that it was there.
