You would be best to wet your feet by doing some buying to learn how the customer experiences eBay.
This will also build your feedback to 10 or more.
Then list unwanted items from around the house to build another 10 or so selling feedback.
Once you have 10 selling feedback, you will also have Detailed Seller Ratings that show on your FB page and give your customers a better idea of your selling performance.
Then you can list your system. Stick to North American customers - you can block other countries- and to sellers with no Unpaid Item Strikes and with active Paypal accounts.
Even so, while you will be required to ship within seven days of payment - and 48 hours is actually the norm- your customer's payment will not be released to you for 21 days.
All of which leads to a recommendation that you sell on Kijiji or Craigslist, whichever is most active in your area. Ask for cash on pickup. These are free sites, too. While your market will be smaller, your costs, selling speed, and security will be higher.
