It seems that I am not the only seller who has ghost listings - Will be bringing it up with Raphael.

I checked a few of your listings and it seems some of you might have some ghosts too!  Most of whom I checked there was a difference, some just a couple of ghost listings.  Now maybe you wanted it that way, but maybe not.

I just checked and first look saw 270 vs 268 -- but I also see 269 vs 269 and 269 vs 268

depending when/how I refresh. Rather inconsistent.

My eBay says 270 listings are active. One of them is set up as Canada only -- so it should be 270 vs 269.

That's good, yours are right.  The others might be right too, I just can't believe, I am the only one who has so many ghost listings.  If it was listed on .com, that is the only place it shows up.  If it was listed on .ca, that is the only place it shows up.  I am dealing with about 94 listings over both .com and .ca.

I was always short (1) one on eBay.com but now it is (2) for some odd reason.

When I look at my "store view" on eBay.com I'm only (1) short (764) which is norm for me and I don't know why that is......

"see other items" on eBay.com I'm short (2), (763). It always use to be (1) short.

Check your "store view" vs. "see other items" on eBay.com and see if there is a difference in numbers.

Sometimes GTC listings when they "re-new" or rotate over (every 30 days) causes your listing numbers to fluctuate until they finish indexing.

I checked your listings on eBay.ca and eBay.com

eBay.ca is 1258 when clicking on "see other items" or your "store" view. 

eBay.com is 1263 when clicking on "see other items" and 1252 when clicking on "store" view.

If you have any items renewing may cause fluctuations until the indexing is complete...

Kudos on being proactive and definitely a good question for Raphael tomorrow......

My store on .ca shows 1258 and on .com shows 1246 but it should show 1294 total.  On Aug 31 and Sept 1 whatever I listed is only visible on the site where I listed it.  So all of the ones I listed on .com, don't show up on .ca and all the ones I listed on .ca don't show up on .com.  If that makes any sense.  So being short is correct as many that are listed aren't shared in the counts.  I know I listed a lot that day(s) as I was trying to get in under the wire for the free allotment of listings for the month.

It would only make sense if you excluded Canada or the USA on your shipping locations for those listings.....

No shipping to both on both ebay's.   It's a mess.  I hope that Raphael is not going to tell me to relist all of them and use up my free listing allotment for something that is ebay's doing.

Did you check your "store view" vs. "see other items" on eBay.ca and eBay.com to see if there is a difference in numbers.

The 1st picture are just a few that I listed on .com that don't show up on .ca  The 2nd picture is what I listed on .ca that don't show up on .com.  Now there are a lot more than this.  Pages....   This is a mess, where I should be listing new I have to deal with this.

Instead of looking at overall numbers, try copy and pasting one item number that appears only on .COM and check it on .CA and vice versa and see if the item appears on both sites.....

I have 805 on .com and 803 on .ca. I don't know how to find which 2 are missing on .ca.

Open two browser windows.

1) Selling Manager - Active - 200 per page - listed alphabetically - on .com

2) Selling Manager - Active - 200 per page - listed alphabetically - on .ca

Compare.

  It is easy as you first go to bottom of page 1 for both sites. If the same listing is at the bottom, then go to page 2.  If not, match line byline until you find one missing.

Repeat until you find both missing listings.

This is interesting.

I checked mine this morning and got 2938 on .ca and 2941 on .com.

Fortunately, the correct number is on .COM.   Sadly I don't care that a few are missing on .CA, because my focus always has been on .COM (my stuff has always been listed on .COM in US$ targeting buyers on .COM). 

If I had to guess, the ghosts are old GTC items that haven't renewed properly at some point (I have GTC items that have been running for as long as 9 years so a lot of grandfathering has happened). I see a couple that haven't retained the primary gallery shot, someday when I have time I'll have to fix them up (finding the pictures again is the hard part!).

It will be interesting to see what comes from the investigation, thanks for pointing it out!

If his Selling Manager is showing the same numbers on eBay.ca and eBay.com you won't be able find the missing two that way.

For me using Selling Manager won't help as the active listing numbers are the same (765) on ebay.ca and ebay.com. It's only when you click on "see other items" or "visit store" on eBay.com do you see different item totals....

eBay.ca has the same item totals (765). eBay.com is at (764) when I click on "visit store" and (763) when I click on "see other items".

Whenever I see in a incongruent number, I attribute this to listings that are new, relisted, or renewing.

They take time to re-appear in the count, as well as store search and item search. 

It used to say this in the Sell Form, at the bottom, right before one hit the final button that set the listing live.

Hi Silver, what I did is, I printed out the sheets of my listings and checked each one manually and that is how I found out so many were not showing up on any other site than the one I originally listed them on.  That is also how I narrowed it down to the date that this all occurred.  If you didn't list anything that day, you are probably safe.  I was just trying to get as many as I could listed to take advantage of the free listing allotment for the month.

I don't know music.  When I check this ID by doing a search from my alternate I.D., I see 36 on both .ca and .com.

And, conversely, my other I.D. shows 230 on both.
