My items don't seem to be selling

I keep reducing the price but nothing seems to be happening & I am getting frustrated. I have spent hours researching prices and I think I am below most adds. Is there something I can do or am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions. Also is fine jewelery a hard sell.

Price, while important, is not the only thing -- you have to get the potential buyer into wanting to look at your listing.

One thing to do is look at your listings as if you were looking to buy something. First at the search display level (http://www.ebay.ca/sch/kussacat/m.html?), then at the individual listing level.

Alternatively get a friend to look at them who you trust to make suggestions.

Looking at your "FEDORA STYLE DRESS HAT" listing -- some of my suggestions.

For the title I'd suggest: "Satin trimmed Fedora style velour hat with mesh veil flecked with brown poms"

The title is what the search program uses and you also want to make it as interesting as possible.

Images: I'd move images 1 and 2 to the back and have 3 and 4 as your upfront images -- to my eye 3 & 4 are the best looking and should be seen first. You might also want to consider an image with the veil rolled down.

Details:

"I will have to ship a hat in a box so the shipping will be slightly more."

suggest a more positive "I will ship the hat in a box so it will be well protected."

Also consider measuring the inside of the hat and give the cm/inches -- Medium can be a bit vague.

Also consider using calculated shipping instead of flat rate. The drawback is you would have to know the approximate box size and weight in advance. But it would make shipping cost more attractive to those who are closer to you. Expedited parcel shipping for Canada can be bought through paypal for an extra discount and includes tracking and insurance.

Lots of suggestions!   For starters, your shipping fees.  No one is going to pay $9 shipping on a $3 item.  You've got a $3 camisole that would fold down and fit in a poly envelope.  Same for a lot of them.  Squash the air out of the bag and they will fit through the 2cm slot.  Sometimes for small fabric things I use those big zip-seal bags for the item so they don't just puff back up again.  Depends on the item.  You don't want the buyer getting something all wrinkled either.

You live not that far from me.  Why would I pay you $12 to mail a bikini? Or a little Topaz ring?  Why would it cost $18 to mail that to me?  You could hire a chauffer-driven car for less.  Never make profit on shipping fees.  Buyers really hate that.

You've got an amethyst peridot pendant.  Why must it be $50.99?  It "looks" like less if you make it $49.  Make up the extra on something else, like 3.99 or  4.99 for the camisole.  And take this out of that camisole ad "It has not been worn in years but has been sitting in my drawer".  It is not a selling point, trust me.  Move some of your shipping fees into your item price or better yet use Calculated shipping for Cdn items.  Make the Rickie Freeman suit $59 instead.  The Claude Rene & David Warren $39, and so on.

Use words like "gorgeous", "beautiful", "lovely", "exquisite".  When shopping for clothes and jewelry, a girl wants to feel pretty!  Look at your ads from the point of view of a buyer.  Pretend YOU were shopping for those items.  If you have a girlfriend or sister have them look at your ads as if they were shoppers.

Most important, almost all your listings say you ship WORLDWIDE, no exclusions.  Are you sure you want to keep that up?  There are some places that absolutely no one will sell to.

My items don't seem to be selling

Thank you for your suggestions - I am wondering did I mark the exclusion field incorrectly - I meant it to reflect that I only want to ship to Canada & the USA - I do not want to ship Worldwide so perhaps someone can direct me in how to correct this.

All suggestions will be helpful & I am very appreciative.....thanks again.
